The hiking trails and the garden with citrus fruits are amazingly beautiful. The swimming pool is refreshing after a hike. Breakfast is varied and the rooms have big balconies overlooking the city of La Merced. They also have an area were you can light a bonfire which we enjoyed a lot. There are many attractions in the city of Huancayo, it has a very nice colonial-style square, you can take walks, visit lagoons, climb the Nevado Huaytapallana. It is close to Jauja where there are trout farms and delicious food. My favorite dish is Patasca, it is a very tasty soup. And to alleviate the cold it is good to drink the famous "Calientito", I tried one with orange juice and it was very tasty.Guest review byJessicaPeru - 10.0

Many Peruvian writers talk about Jauja in their books because it is a little gem in the heart of the Andes. The town is full of history and the places to visit (lakes, ruins, city center) are so peaceful and beautiful. You can find different types of Peruvian dishes all over town. I had breakfast in the town’s market and it was very affordable and delicious. Lastly, the people of Jauja will welcome you with open arms. One thing to take into account is that Jauja is located at 11089 ft. above sea level so take it easy when walking, running, etc. (altitude sickness may happen if not careful).Guest review byMarthaUnited States
