Beautiful grounds! Don’t miss the Llamas 🦙 on the backyard of the hotel. Service was SUPER excellent!! Very very attentive staff ( Jose and all staff) we got to the hotel with my mom who walks with a cane and Jose ( from paprika restaurant) approached to us and offered a wheelchair so my mom can be more comfortable ( we did not ask him. It was his own idea ) and brought the wheelchair. Since the moment we arrived the staff was very service oriented and seeing that we get the best during our stay. We have stayed at Costa del Sol- el golf several times and every time was awesome! and we will continue coming here when we are visiting trujillo. Highly recommended!

This is a little gem in a very busy town. A place that makes you feel welcome and well cared for. I had read some of the negative comments by some guests, and of course, nothing is perfect but I never felt that the faults were so detrimental that deserved a negative evaluation. The staff never showed any signs of carelessness or rudeness in treating us or other guests. Breakfast was also a nice surprise. The menu changed slightly every day and this made up for the small selection of items. I was happy with this. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Not a hint of displeasure or carelessness in caring for the customers. Overall, this is a place that will not disappoint most people. And if you have read any of my previous reviews, you will see that I am fairly critical and demanding of hotels and restaurants. After all, if you choose to go to a place and are willing to pay and make yourself the recipient of services i you expect will be given to you, then demand those and let them know that you are paying for this.

    We were happy to be in the centre of town. The hotel recommended an excellent driver for the week; Don Pedro knows the area well and it made our journeys most comfortable. There are several cultural areas to visit close by. Well worth it.

    Huanchaco is a cute and safe place and a good place to base...

    Huanchaco is a cute and safe place and a good place to base yourself in the Trujillo area - it is way safer than Trujillo and has incredible food to boot. Be sure to try the parihuela and ceviche at one of the many seaside restaurants. Huanchaco is also home to the caballitos de totora - a continuation of a pre-Columbian tradition of reed boats. Chan Chan is nearby and it's a straight shot to Huaca el Brujo.

    Incredible archeology sites within 20 minutes by taxi: Chan Chan merits a visit of 2-3 hours, same for La Huaca de la Luna. It's more like a 2 hour drive to reach el Brujo, another amazing site. Trujillo itself has a really nice old town with a gorgeous cathedral, buzzing main plaza, and lively pedestrian streets. Good restaurants, especially Al Dente Trattoria. Outside the old town, San Andres is a pleasant residential area nearby. Huanchaco is a fun seaside town just a quick ride away. Uber is cheap and easy.

    It's definitely not a small surf town like I thought, it's much bigger than expected with a bit of a nightlife. Many three-story bars and restaurants, many cute markets, but the real shopping is located in Trujillo (a half hour bus ride away). Despite the busy streets and many pedestrians, huanchaco maintains a very chill vibe. The beaches aren't great for relaxing or swimming but perfect for surfing. It's a really beautiful vacation destination, safe for the family and for solo travellers as well of all ages. I'd definitely recommend a visit !

    It is an excellent city if you stay in the central square. There are several shopping streets on the main square that are safe a full of activity. Trujillo also has excellent archeological sites that are well worth the visit.
