- From $117.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 533 reviewsA waterfront bungalow with a deck? We absolutely loved it. We wanted a waterfront experience without paying the crazy high prices of an overwater bungalow, and this was an awesome option for a good price! I don't really understand the negative reviews of this place. If you read the description and listen to the check-in instructions upon your arrival, everything is made super clear! Yes, it's by the road, as are most of the houses and hotels on this island since the road follows the coastline. Yes, there are some bugs, but that's what's to be expected when you're staying on a tropical island. No, there's no beach (as you can see in the photos), and there really only are a couple of beaches on the entire island, but there's a dock you can swim off of and amazing snorkeling just outside your bedroom door. What more could you ask for? Our bed had a mosquito net and a fan kept us nice and cool in the evenings. The staff was incredibly kind and informed us of the meal times upon our arrival. Most of the island follows those same meal times too. I highly recommend!Guest review byEvangeleaUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 616 reviewsBeautiful resort! Lovely pool area with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. There are also a few chairs and umbrellas along beach for more quiet relaxing. Excellent snorkeling in shallow water right from beach. Kayaks and paddleboards available free of charge. Wonderful breakfast buffet. We stayed in an overwater bungalow - very good size room with comfortable bed. To save money on meals, visit the food truck next to the resort entrance and the restaurant across the street. Also, stock up on drinks and snacks at grocery store that is less than 10 mins walk (turn right upon leaving resort).Guest review byDaveCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 353 reviewsI don’t usually give 10 but this place really deserves a 10. We had such an amazing and unforgettable stay at Fare Tokoau. Tea and Alex are such great hosts. The bungalows are amazing, clean, spacious and comfy. The tropical garden surrounding the bungalows is beautiful and so it is the beach view. Alex also runs the best Moorea lagoon tours so make sure you sign up for that! Their animals are lovely they have a few dogs and cats. Absolutely stunning.Guest review byChristianItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 41 reviewsThe property is in a secluded part of a beautiful lagoon. We had our own private patio on the beach. The hosts were awesome people. We took their free kayak to explore the lagoon and snorkeled in the crystal clear reef right in front of our bungalowGuest review byTamzidaUnited States

I like the slow pace of Moorea.
I like the slow pace of Moorea. I wake up to watch the sunrises and stop to watch the sunsets every night. The star gazing is unbelievable and swimming in the dark under a curtain of stars is my happy place.Guest review byNatalieNew Zealand - 10.0
The scenery was spectacular. The people were very friendly.
The scenery was spectacular. The people were very friendly. The beach was excellent. It was great to be able to lay under a palm tree for shade. A car is strongly recommend. It is easy to drive around the island, the roads are perfect. The island is very quiet, except for the roosters which add a fabulous authenticity to the island experience.Guest review byKarenCanada - 8.0
The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful.
The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. Everything was super clean and well cared for. We rented E-bikes and had a wonderful afternoon exploring the island by ourselves. Taking a taxi to other places for meals was no problem just be certain they are open that day. The island is very quiet in the evenings. The locals( the the guests too) live by the sun...early to rise and early to bed.Guest review byKimCanada - 6.0

Location is a long way from the airport and port, so best to rent a car to get around as no bus service. Hot and humid in January so not so easy to walk far. Many people were enjoying lagoon activities.Guest review byDavidNew Zealand - 10.0

I loved the location and the serenity of it, I loved to sit on the benches on the bay and read. Allo pizza food amazing. You need a car here in order to get to the shops and beaches, but I knew this when I booked and was happy. Few nice places in walking distance and supermarket about 15 min walk. This place is great value, and meant the money I saved I spent on car and excursions. I would stay again, as a very family feel, being a single traveller I felt very safe here and looked afterGuest review byRebeccaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Beautiful rustic setting, close to gorgeous beaches, friendly people. Great if you like water sports - kayak, jetski, snorkeling, diving, swimming, just lounging in the clear warm water! You will need a rental car to get around no matter where you stay - no uber. You can drive around the whole island in about an hour. A great tour to take from Albert Tours is the snorkeling with sharks & rays. It includes a nice lunch.Guest review byAnnUnited States - 10.0

So so beautiful. The lagoon, the colours of the lagoon. Must get back. A high recommendation is to rent a car or a scooter and drive or ride around the island it really is beautiful. Love it more than Bora Bora but both are a must to visitGuest review byZdravko VrbanjacAustralia - 10.0
I heartily do recommend Tema'e Beach House.
I heartily do recommend Tema'e Beach House. Nick, the owner, is a really nice and attentive guy - looks after his guests as well as the premacy itself & keeps it clean & proper (mind you: not always an easy task in tropical surroundings!). And really helpful are his pick-ups at the ferry port. Those arriving by plane don't have to worry anyway: airport is only a 300(!) metres walk away. What's a superb experience: sitting together with the other guests from all over the world & sometimes having in-depth discussions. On top of it, wonderful Tema'e beach is in walking distance as well (approximately 15 minutes) - be aware of the strong current of the sea, though! For the adventurous types: take an astounding bike ride around Mo'orea (60 km, approx 3-5 hrs ride, depending on personal fitness) - the bike is working now, we repaired it :-))). As for lagoon tours: contact Moorea Miti Tours, excellent! Of course, there have to be (especially in-house) rules (shoes, eating, waste and so on). However, a bit less strictness would even add to a more relaxed atmosphere.Guest review byKlausGermany - 2.0

The idea of the Te Orange Hau "lodge" is lovely which is why I booked it. But it does not deliver. It was a sham of what was represented on the website. We stayed in the back one bedroom cottage with the bedroom up some narrow stairs with no light at night. The place was dirty with moldy shower curtain shower. In the morning I wakened to rat poo next to my toothbrush. The bathroom is literally "under the stairs". The kitchenette is hardly that. There was an unworkable electric hot plate, a tiny fridge and we absolutely could not "prepare meals" in that kitchen. Good restaurants are at least 20-25 minutes away from Affareaitu. There are 2 cottages in front. I do not know what they are like but the website combines the best pictures of all of them and presents them as the cottage they are offering. This is dishonest. Moorea is a difficult place to find another place to stay when you are under the gun. Luckily we were able to find something else and only had to stay there for 2 miserable nights. Don't ruin your time on this beautiful island.Guest review byHansiUnited States - 4.0

This destination is absurdly expensive, largely due to high government taxes. In our experience, it was over-hyped and underwhelming. More concerning, it is not a safe location for walkers. The island—like many in the South Pacific—is overrun with feral and aggressive dogs. We strongly advise against visiting this destination until authorities take meaningful action to address the roaming dog problem.Guest review byGregNew Zealand
