The room is huge with a balcony overlooking the river, from which we saw lots of birds, bats, butterflies, bats, lizards and fireflies. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. All of the staff were incredible and all knew our names and which room we were in- Christy, Silva, and Margie on reception were absolutely amazing at their jobs and so helpful. We did the firefly tour, took kayaks out on the river and ate in the restaurant a lot- food was really good. One evening children from the local high school came to perform some traditional dances which were brilliant and so much fun The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We have stayed all over the world and this is one of the best places we've ever been. I like the people of Panglao and the places. There is really not much to do in Tagbilaran, only a statue, two churches and a square. It can be seen in an hour (and a half). Clubs, bars and restaurants have moved from Tagbilaran to Panglao - because that is where the most tourists are. We had planned to do river trips but instead just did our own paddling on the river. The river isnt particularly special and it seems there are limitations to the trips (e.g. frequently you cant swim at the falls). It does have a strong current so be careful when in the water. The hotel provides a guide in case of difficulty. BTW: The Tarsier "sanctuary" was a massive disappointment. Just a photo op. Chocolate Hills platform gives a lovely view, but an hour is enough. The Dive Resort described in the advertisement did not exist. There were no diving equipment nor could you rent at any location nearby. We were lied to and took daily trips to town. The SCUBA equipment never arrived. The barameter was steady the entire time we stayed. We finally cut our strangle hold the motel had on us as we spent almost $10,000.00 coming from Florida USA. I didn’t know it takes a day and a half to get to the closest sea port to spend 5 more hours plus taxi time to get to the Lahoy. I will visit the beautiful island but not with the same operator of a crappy motel on potentially beautiful ocean view. That amenity came from up above and was the only perk. Just beware of scammers with old pictures of their run down facility. Do your research on your own and demand new pictures. Look at the meta data on the photo. It cannot be edited. Sorry. I’m still annoyed we got financially abused and wasted a week. Sad part is we left early because all I have reviewed is true. The owner is not all there and can be read in her replies to what I wrote. I wish the place was like the old photos she provided. They were from her tenant whom leased the place. She thought she could end their lease reaping the benefits of what the tenant built. Just a scam based on the property of what it was and what it is not today. Jagna is a small port city/town, much like many others around the Philippines. Paseo Del Mar Resort is very close to the Port and is a very welcoming 'basic' backpacker type resort. We will come again to stay should we come to Bohol. One interpretation of my previous review has been misunderstood as negative. Was everything perfect? Is life perfect? I rest my case. Bohol is an incredibly beautiful destination, and I would love to come back and explore more of what it has to offer. It's not just the stunning beaches — the hills, mountains, and natural scenery are equally breathtaking. Unfortunately, our stay was quite short, and the inclement weather limited our plans even more. We didn’t get to fully experience everything, but what we saw left a lasting impression.
