The pool was great and we loved the outdoor seating areas and complimentary coffee, tea, juice and water that was available throughout the day. United StatesVirlys was a exceptional resort to stay. Owners are super nice and helpful. Views of the ocean and from the pool were awsome. Owners dogs were very friendly once they get to know you and playful. My gf was afraid at first since their big but warmed up to them fast. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and filling. Can't recommend this resort enough. Pure delight to stay here.

There is a lot to see and visit in Cebu City.
There is a lot to see and visit in Cebu City. It appears the city is riding a wave of investment with lots pf construction everywhere. However some of the main roads and streets are very congested and the government will have to come up with a plan soon to fix this problem before the entire network is choked. This traffic problem will deter international visitors. Cebu is a city with lots of scenery and looked after environmental areas.

I was there to complete my scuba training.
In hindsight, I should have gone elsewhere in the Philippines.
The people are very friendly, but they are everywhere in the Philippines.
I would suggest avoiding the island and Cebu city.
You would be better off in Bohol etc. Far more beautiful.

Beaches nearby are white sand and accessible. Badian beach a short ride away and less crowded than Moalboal. Popular waterfalls a short trip away.
Easy bike hire.

The location is excellent — you can practically watch whales from the shore. Definitely worth the money, and I would absolutely choose this accommodation again. The staff is wonderful, always ready to help with any questions, assist with booking whale-watching tours, and arrange transportation to your next destination.

To visit main seaside mall upwards of 700peso each way

More of a 'local character' than when I stayed in the IT...
More of a 'local character' than when I stayed in the IT Park area. I really did not enjoy IT Park because it was just a big mall area with businesses and restaurants and a lot of congestion and noise.
The Pusok area was much quieter. More locals which I enjoy interacting with. Easier to get around.
There is a mall area but it is not as big or nice as other malls in Cebu City. But I was able to find everything I needed. Some shops close a bit early though.
When I return to Cebu City I will probably stay in this area again. I like how close it is to the airport because the ridiculous traffic in Cebu City concerns me when I need to get to the airport.
I think the cost of lodging is more affordable in this area.
I was always able to get a Grab taxi when I needed it.

Beatiful, green island. Paradise for seafood fans. Fresh, delicious and decent price, sometimes even cheap. If you more into nature than towns and pubs do not miss: Mangrove Park, Nature Park, Lalio's cave, Colina Isla de Bantayan:) Santa Fe - more for food and drinks at night :)

Badian is a more vibrant town compared to another closer town. I loved the fruits/veggies markets. Lots of Filipino food eateries. Lots of traditional sweets and treats but full of sugar. My sister and I also loved the Badian fish markets, lovely fresh catch every day.
