The calamian group of islands of which Coron is part of, is beautiful. And I hope all the measures to keep it pristine and unlittered will be successful always. There are many breathtaking sights. You would need a sizable budget though to be able to enjoy the boat tours which are wonderful. If you have the time, visit Culion. It is historical (a UNESCO site), and while the places to see could do a little tidying up, nevertheless, the history of that place invites reflection and inspires--many heroic people lived on that island. The place is nice but quite far from the mainland (30-40mins boat ride). It is good for people who like privacy but not for those who would want to explore and try out different food and places in Coron town. The rooms are nice and most of the staff are pleasant. Food is just ok. The biggest drawback is the value for money. I think you can find more of the same island life ambiance elsewhere without breaking the bank. I regret not choosing Sunlight resorts or heading to Lio in El Nido instead. Take note when booking they charge for extra adult in excess of 2 people for most of the rooms even though they are still considered children (10 years old and older will be charged more or less100 USD). Rooms are spacious, big selection if breakfast, friendly hotel staff. Infinity pool is okay, could have a bit deeper though. The other pool is undergoing refurbishment. Island hoping are a must to do. We ate in the town where they served fresh sea food.I think its called Island boy Grill. Day trips to beautiful beaches and islands is what Coron is about. The town is dirty and chaotic. And hotels are overpriced for what you get. 3 or 4 days is enough to enjoy the diving and snorkelling options which are wonderful. Lots of rubbish floating around in the ocean and on the beaches which seems to be a south east Asia problem.
