Stylish cozy and modern rooms (the beds are SO comfortable), rooftop bar with great views and cocktails, Michelin star vegan food. The food was an absolute highlight for me being a vegan. A really well thought, diverse, colourful menu and every single dish I tried was delicious and bursting with flavours. Honestly, one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Staff incredible and constantly going the extra mile in providing outstanding customer service, whether that be calling me a tuk tuk to visit places, arranging boat expeditions- they even made sure I had water to take with me when I left the hotel as I had quite a drive to my next destination. Staff always SO happy, helpful and friendly. Also, the wonderfully cute and gorgeous HH- the hotel cat :) I miss this hotel already and if I ever return to El Nido town I will be sure to stay here again. Highly recommend

New ZealandOur stay at Z Garden Hotel was an absolute delight. The property was situated in the most ideal location - right by the port for great views and away from the hustle and noise of the town centre.
What stood out to us the most was the exceptional service by all the staff, specifically by Pau and Remy, especially when things got chaotic from the typhoon.
Before our island tour, Remy gave us bottled water and beach towels without us having to ask, umbrellas as soon as she saw us step an inch out of the lobby, and moved the water dispenser closer to our room to make our lives that extra bit easier.
During the typhoon, Pau offered earplugs to help us sleep at night, and personally knocked on our door (at the peak of the typhoon) with a beaming smile to offer her assistance and make sure we were okay. On top of that, she offered for breakfast to be delivered to our room since it was still deemed unsafe to go outside.
The amenities were top notch (SMEG kettle + Dyson Airwrap) and housekeeping always left the room spotless (despite us leaving sand all over the floor). A wonderful helper also helped carry all our luggage up 2 flights of stairs.
We could not recommend this place enough. From the new amenities, great views and exceptional staff, your stay at El Nido will be absolutely unforgettable!

Very close to the beach which we walked to and surfed everyday. Perfect waves for beginners and no one else around. I love the staff especially Glen and Justine. Very accommodating, helpful and went the extra mile. We stayed there during the typhoon unfortunately but it was still the best experience because of them. I'm sooo happy they have kind hearted with excellent customer service staff ❤️ Again, thank you Glen and Justine 😊

They gave us a packed breakfast to take to the airport, insisted on carrying our bags and organised everything we needed for our short stay. The location is perfect and the rooftop pool is divine with great views!

Lively, plenty of food and party options. Good access to beaches nearby. More expensive than most places in the Philippines though. I personally liked El Nido town more than Coron but thought the tours in Coron, especially snorkelling, coral reefs and fish life better up there compared to what I saw in El Nido . Found in both places it pays to book accomodation ahead as it books out quickly.

The damage from the previous typoons is still present. There are numerous bars, I recommend the Pacifico Bar, they have Octoberfest sized mugs to hold the Red Horse Beer. It is 50 Pesos each way from the hotel to town and back. On the island tours, the outhouses are the absolute bare minimum, a toilet, no seat, no tank, no TP, a bucket and a ladle and no sink. Wear grippy water shoes, the stairs are slippery. Go see the Coral Garden, elsewhere all the other fish are <5" and no coral. Unless you go to the the Coral Garden, the crystal kayak is a waste of money. Still I had a great time, the staff did an amazing job, life is an adventure!

The most important things to do here its the underground river located in a cave about 2h drive away from the hotel by van to the National park. Also its nice to travel down the south for Balabac but I personally picked North up to El Nido for more Island Hoppings.

Absolutely! San Vicente really flies under the radar compared to El Nido and Coron, but that’s part of its charm. It’s less crowded, more laid-back, and still boasts those stunning, unspoiled beaches—especially the 14-kilometer Long Beach, which feels like a hidden gem.
The slower pace and warm, genuine hospitality from the locals really give it that authentic "island life" vibe. It’s perfect for people looking to relax, connect with nature, and avoid the more tourist-heavy scenes. Some even say it’s what El Nido felt like 10 or 15 years ago.

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...
If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping.
If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home.
Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February.
To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town. The beaches were beautiful and mostly clean. The town has plenty of activities to offer and places to eat. The whole place is walkable but you may want a Tuktuk or moped to visit further beaches.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed...
If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

El Nido is an incredible destination with breathtaking limestone cliffs, crystal-clear turquoise water, and some of the best island-hopping experiences we’ve had. The tours are well organised and take you to beautiful lagoons, beaches, and snorkelling spots, so bringing your own snorkel and mask is recommended if you have them, along with water shoes for rocky shorelines, although all equipment can also be hired locally. If you’re flying into Puerto Princesa, be prepared for a long but scenic van transfer of around five hours on a winding road, it’s worth allowing plenty of time, packing snacks and water, and planning arrival during daylight if possible, as the effort is absolutely worth it once you arrive.

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!
