It is a beautiful, clean, and quiet city near Katowice in German style almost at the cross of A4 and A1 highways. Center\downtown is a typical Polish historical district with buildings mainly from the 1900 years. Dąbrowa Górnicza is not a "touristy" town. But it has it's perks though. Large and green parks, a Pogoria lake with many attractions. It's nicely located between Katowice and Krakow. We didn’t know what to expect from Katowice as it isn’t really known as a touristy destination and is often described as “industrial” but we had a lovely day there - cracking museum ( Silesian museum) which had many different exhibits and we strolled around town and found some lovely places to eat. Well- if you are coming here its probably not because of hunt for beautiful views or splendid architecture. It's not a world class tourist hub- just a little, kinda sleepy city. We booked for a week but stayed a couple of days then moved on to Ostrava then came back to Katowice for a few days . I think a weekend would be long enough unless you are travelling elsewhere.
