- From $270.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 978 reviewsFrom the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They truly made us feel like valued guests, and I couldn't have asked for better service. In addition to the fantastic staff, the resort itself is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds. The spa is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long day at the beach. And speaking of the beach... wow. The Pestana Porto Santo Beach Resort & SPA is situated right on the beach, and it's truly a sight to behold. The water is warm and inviting, and the sand is soft and perfect for lounging. Whether you want to take a dip in the ocean or simply relax under an umbrella with a good book, this beach has it all. Overall, I can't recommend the Pestana Porto Santo Beach Resort & SPA enough. If you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation with top-notch service, this is the place for you. I can't wait to come back and experience it all over again!Guest review byRadu-LucianRomania
- From $272.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,779 reviewsMy stay at Pestana CR7 Funchal was an incredible experience from start to finish. The hotel has a vibrant, modern vibe with stylish interiors and a sporty touch that reflects Cristiano Ronaldo’s personality—perfect for fans and non-fans alike. The location is fantastic—right on the marina with beautiful views, close to Funchal’s old town and key attractions. The room was clean, cozy, and well-designed, with great amenities and a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was one of the highlights—fresh, varied, and served with a smile. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The rooftop area was also a gem—great for relaxing or grabbing a drink after a day of exploring. Whether you’re visiting Madeira for adventure or relaxation, Pestana CR7 offers a perfect blend of comfort, location, and unique flair. I’d definitely return!Guest review byMostafaUnited Arab Emirates
- From $316.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,743 reviewsAn amazing hotel with an extremely friendly staff that was ready to accommodate our needs or quick to fix any inconvenience. The staff additionally cleaned a little bit in the evening, made a bed and bring small chocolates. Super cute. The place was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. I loved the infinity pool and the views from the hotel. It was especially wonderful to fall asleep listening to the ocean. I like the spa facilities but can’t say that massage was exceptional for my taste. I hiked and walked a lot so expected some muscle release massage but it was just a very spa oriented procedure, didn’t really ease my muscle tension. Overall an incredible experience and I would love to come back.Guest review byLandaIsrael

I love Madeira but Funchal has limited activities and shops.
I love Madeira but Funchal has limited activities and shops. To get the most out of Madeira you need to venture out of town, ideally in your own transport, and see the island scenery. Funchal feels European but isn't very trendy and offers limited food and shopping for seasoned travellers.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker,...
Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker, It was however for us a slow paced setting with a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets with walking routes for those who wish. The harbour offered boat trips, whale watching and surf lessons, the latter was enjoyed from the safety of a dry vantage point. Local bus into Funchal for 2-60 euro single was 50 mins away which opens up further opportunities for excursions and sight seeing like the red or yellow hop on hop off bus tours which operate from the promenade where the ticket is valid for 24 hours allowing to to spend time where the mood takes. Weather forecasting in resort will not take into account the drizzle from the mountains with can add a cooling break from the sunshine and occasional rain. Enjoy.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We were only staying in Caniço, we went there to visit Madeira and really enjoyed it. It's green and beautiful, people are very nice and food is excellent. I would definitely recommend renting a car with a powerful engine as the island has lots of steep roads.Guest review byCristinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast.
Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast. Not far away from airport and capital, but still on the north. Two hiking starting points are nearby: Queimadas and Achada do Teixeira. Santana also has an only large supermarket on the whole north coast, so you can buy delicious food right there. No such option in Porto Moniz or Seixal.Guest review bySergeyNorway - 8.0

Calhetta itself is small and the main part of it centres around the harbour. As you might expect this means that all the major activities are boat-based such as whale and dolphin watching, sailing, fishing, excursions etc. but there are also lots of restaurants and bars overlooking the harbour where you can get a great meal - especially if you like fish - or just relax for the evening and watch the sunset.Guest review byRobGrantUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This location is simply out-of-this-world beautiful. I did a lot of driving around Madeira, 700km in a week, so I saw a lot of places. Sao Vicente is lush, green, mountainous and breathtaking. I'm definitely glad we stayed here.Guest review byJodieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great local place. I am very glad I have not spend the time in Funchal. From here I could explore the whole island and had my peace in the evening but with vibrant Sunday as all the locals come to town for their coffee and markets.Guest review byPavolSlovakia
