I liked the hotel,the city has a very interesting story. Lot of interesting houses, took a very nice bike tour along the river. Had mostly a very good food ( Nola kitchen, Honest green) and some very good coffee houses. A lovely town. Not huge but really with lots of old streets and a great fernicular up to the view point. Be aware that the underground car park runs the complete length of the main shopping street, from down by the waterfront all the way up to the train station. Room had dated brown furniture , not enough space between bed and dressing table I stubbed my toes twice. No kettle with tea and coffee in the room . I didn’t like the body gel sachets in the bathroom . It all felt a bit penny pinching from the hotel , it cost enough to warrant a coffee and a generous amount of body wash in the shower. Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families.
