I would not recommend Porto to anyone with mobility issues,...
I would not recommend Porto to anyone with mobility issues, as wherever you go in the city there are steep hills. The Rebeira district (basically the old town by the river) is nice, with cafes, bars and restaurants. The south side of the river there are the warehouses of the port companies. There is also a food court on that side of the river. Good views from the top level of the Dom Luis I bridge. I had some really nice red wine in a restaurant. A lovely town.
A lovely town. Not huge but really with lots of old streets and a great fernicular up to the view point. Be aware that the underground car park runs the complete length of the main shopping street, from down by the waterfront all the way up to the train station. Room had dated brown furniture , not enough space between bed and dressing table I stubbed my toes twice. No kettle with tea and coffee in the room . I didn’t like the body gel sachets in the bathroom . It all felt a bit penny pinching from the hotel , it cost enough to warrant a coffee and a generous amount of body wash in the shower. The hotel was quiet and we had a good sleep ,comfy bed ,nice blinds. The location was the best thing ,didn’t have breakfast because we left before 5AM.Guest review byThomas - 10.0

Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families.
