A good location for a stress-free stay in Caravela, Casarao dos Reis is a farm stay surrounded by views of the quiet street.

Tucked away in a small cobbled side street of a tiny village, this hidden gem might fool you by its fairly modest outside appearance, but once you step inside you'll be pleasantly surprised! The spacious common areas are very nicely decorated in a style that fits the rural environment perfectly. There is a huge kitchen available for the guests. The rooms are large and comfortable. Everything is well kept and spotless. In the rear there is a large terrace with umbrellas and ample views of the countryside. Last not least, Lady Sara will take very good care of you and will be happy to show you her beautiful and well kept garden and orchard in the rear of the building - a little garden of Eden. If you travel with children, they will love all the animals Lady Sara is keeping at the far end of the property: sheep, dogs, ducks, geese, chicken, rabbits, guinea pigs...
I can't imagine a more pleasant and authentic way of experiencing the countryside of Northern Portugal!
Parking is available in a garage in the rear of the building.
There are several restaurants available nearby. My dinner at the restaurant closest to the property was delicious.

As typical of Portuguese people, we were greeted with a smile. I needed laundry service because I had motion sickness during the long bus ride. They cleaned my new scarf and jacket without charge! They came back beautiful. Served lovely breakfast in the morning. Will return.

Everything was great and the receptionist all of them were super nice, helpful, really they were so kind and willing to answer all my questions. The room was clean and while I was there, everyday they were cleaning it. The best location nearby the plaza and the shopping, bus station.

This is a lovely, cozy and luxurious apartment that is both stylish and exceptionally clean. The space is bright and welcoming, with a fabulous sun terrace. The location is perfect, castle is just a short walk away and you can even see the tower from the apartment. It was raining when we checked in and the host had already turned on the inverter for us before our arrival, which shows how attentive they are to their guests. We enjoyed our stay there and will definitely repeat the stay on our next visit. Thank you for providing an amazing place for the stay.

The breakfast was excellent. Manuel and Maria were very welcoming and exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and informative. The location, while somewhat hard to find, was very beautiful. They have converted a 200 year old building into a very comfortable accommodation without sacrificing it’s fascinating character.

Perfect tranquilty.
Perfect tranquilty. Quiet village in National park outside of Braganca (20 minute drive). Very comfortable house with all facilities in Kitchen as per advertised. Excellent host. Luis is a gentleman and took great care to ensure the stay was great. Gave full privacy but responded immediately to requests! Even had flat tire on my hire car fixed for me, with no charge. Great fireplace. Wood delivered to door each day. Booked for two nights and stayed for four. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highly reccomend!

Baçal is a small village, no great monuments or points of interest, the house of "Abade de Baçal" is decaying into ruins.
I stayed at a very pleasant "Moleiro de Baçal", clean, spacious, modern and nice! See my more completereview elsewhere.

We stayed in one of the chalets on site and enjoyed both the comfort views. The place was busy with camper vans and others using tents but there remained plenty of room for all.
The chalet was spotlessly clean and roomy for two people.
