Raymond Hotel is the center of Kazan, 2953 feet from Kazan State University and 0.7 mi from Peter and Paul Cathedral. Central Park is a 10-minute walk away. The hotel’s location is perfect - within walking distance from the major tourist attractions and pretty close to the river. The stuff was polite and friendly, arranged an early check-in and gave us a complimentary chuck-chuck when we were checking out 😊 The hotel has everything a traveler needs, including tasty nutritious breakfast.
Being the part of the American Ramada chain this hotel is located in Kazan city center, 656 feet from the central station. What a surprise!! Such a lovely staff people, helpful and very smiley. Check in and check out were very quick and easy to do. The hotel is perfectly clean, the room as well there is absolutely nothing missing to be comfortable. The breakfast offered a large choice of food and it was good. There is a 24h/24h service room so if you have or want any food during the night it's up to you. It's well situated but not totally in the center of the city but very close by there is a VERY good restaurant Priyut Kholostyaka, the meat was perfect and the dessert as well.
Centrally located in Kazan, the 4-star Giuseppe Hotel is only 100-yards away from the Kazan Kremlin. It offers free internet access and satellite TV. Both location and the structure itself are simply fantastic. I thought, it was an old palace, but actually, only the front part is historic, the major rear building is new, but it is constructed with style. You really feel like you are in an old Italian hotel. I had a room like 30 sq. meters with a 8--9 sq. meter balcony for a very reasonable price (that was a special offer, I guess, outside of the major tourist seasons). The ladies at the reception, in the restaurant and pizzeria, ... are all very professional and friendly. The selection of food for breakfast is ample and varied (on top of all usual things, there were like 8 kinds of excellent Italian cheese, superb local bakery, etc.)
Attractively located in Kazan, NEO Kazan Palace by Tasigo features express check-in and check-out and free private parking. Top notch European hotel in Kazan - huge rooms and bathrooms, super clean, excellent breakfast, being at NEO you get access to the main Kazan Palace facilities which is an added bonus. Waaay better than Hilton or local hotels like Shalyapin.

Though Kazan is a capital of a Muslim region Tatarstan, you don't really feel it, mosques are next to a orthodox churches and there are not many of them. People dressed in a western-like clothes. The city kept the architecture of the Russian empire time of the XIX century, sometimes reminds the Saint-Petersburg down-town. The city is well maintained, houses are renovated. It is probably better to visit Kazan at summer, as at winter it can be quite cold, as well there are a lot of snow, which stays on the streets and long walks are not that pleasant in a deep snow. Stay in the city center, so you can walk around. If you are looking for a tatar's food, better go to Tatarskaja sloboda, the district with traditional houses and restaurants. Surprisingly, there are not many nice places with traditional cousine on the main walking streets. In overall, it s nice, cosy place, not too big and easy to get around, with interesting combination of Russian and tatar's souvenirs, Uzbekistan's cousine, mosques, churches and XIX-centure classic architecture.
