Absolutely magical stay! This lodge near Volcanoes National Park is a true hidden gem and one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling. The location is unbeatable—just a short 15-minute drive to the gorilla trekking meeting point, making it incredibly convenient. You’re completely immersed in nature, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking volcano views that make every moment feel surreal. The lodge itself is done with impeccable taste and so much attention to detail—from the beautifully curated plants and decorations to the cozy, inviting atmosphere. I was welcomed with a lovely souvenir gift in my room, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room was stocked with everything I could possibly need: tea, coffee, plush bathrobes, slippers… it felt like home, but better. At night, the staff even left a hot water bottle in the bed—such a comforting detail after a day of adventure. The food? Incredible. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and dinner was just perfect every night. The common area with the fireplace became a nightly ritual—great music, warm fire, interesting conversations, and a cozy ambiance that made it hard to leave. Joachim, the host, is an absolute star. Friendly, responsive, and so informative—he was always ready to help with tips, transport arrangements, or anything else we needed, always at a fair price. His warmth and hospitality really stood out. Oh, and let’s not forget the little things: the team cleaned my muddy shoes and gaiters after trekking (lifesaver!), and the lodge is also home to an adorable family of cats and a sweet dog who made my stay even more special. I couldn’t stop petting them! This place is paradise. Peaceful, welcoming, beautifully run, and surrounded by the beauty of Rwanda. I’m already dreaming of coming back. Highly, highly recommended

This is one of the best places i have ever stayed. The location is very close to the volcanoes national park center, the house is beautiful and well structured, the caretaker is amazing and even the possibility to order (super tasty) dinner from the main hotel is a great add-on. Of course, all of this is topped by the fact that staying here means you support a very nice organisation, which is doing a remarkable job. This is one of my most straight-forward recommendations, there is no way i am back in Rwanda and don’t visit it.

The bed was very comfortable and generally the views of the mountain was spectacular, especially in the morning.

Without a doubt the best place to stay in the volcanoes area , The staff is unbelievable friendly . They want you to feel at home and they did more than that . When we come in they helped with everything. They fixed our suitcases and makes sure that we have right place to sleep , Nothing made us proud and feel comfortable more than staying to the place owned by a young Rwandan who looks to be impossible to describe how humble and knowledgeable he is , We sat together at evening in front of a small fire they make to make you warm in time the temperature goes down , he taught us how to play the Rwandan local game called Igisoro and it was a magical relaxing game to have in time you looks to be tired somehow , In the morning Michael helped us to organize the Mountain gorilla trekking tour where we were supposed to be at park headquarter at 07 00 am , at 06 00 it was our time to have a breakfast and they made everything on right time and we will always miss the kind of fresh fruits we had on our breakfast , At 06 30 we ended our breakfast and Volcanoes Over View Safaris driver took us to the park headquarter where we meet with the volcanoes national park guide who took us to the gorillas , And visiting gorillas in Rwanda is some of what overlooked and it is wonderful and super amazing ! If you don't like too much shining hotel and want a relaxing place , beautiful landscapes and amazing view Under Volcanoes View can serve you well , Kindly looking forward to coming back to Rwanda and in time we say visit Rwanda , Volcanoes Over View Safaris and Under Volcanoes View Guest House comes to our mind !

Such a beautiful scenery and it fits the setting of the country and the gorilla experience!

I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!!

I must commend the restaurant services and housekeeping for their exceptional organization and outstanding performance
