We did a whistle-stop tour of Trollhattan in the evenings of the 3 days we were working and on the morning of the day we travelled back. In that time we fell under the spell of the place. If you like industrial heritage and water combined with nature and clean fresh air, this is the place for you. Travelling in late may we found the temperature to be about 2 degrees C under our Lancashire temperatures for the same period. The place is spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the bridges, of which there are many, the Saab museum and the forests on the mountains were amazing, with an awesome view over the valley to the massive lake that you would think could be an ocean.Guest review byJayUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We were travelling over to Gothenburg so this was a great little stop over town en route. We visited the motor museum (which was actually rather good) and took a walk around the waterfront. Some nice bistros and eateries there, all you would need for a short stay. We sadly missed the broadcasting/radio museum nearby as it was closed. The town square itself is nice but there are a quite a few more modern buildings that look a little brutal. We moved on to Vadstena which was a short drive away and a fantastic place to visit. Gothenburg is a very nice travel destination for families! We loved Alfons Åbergs Kulturhus, which is an interactive museum (for kids under 7, I would say). In Universeum, there are cool science exhibits, an aquarium and a terrarium, a rainforest to explore, and much more (all ages!). The botanical garden is perfect for picnics and strolls. There are many well-maintained playgrounds throughout the city. You can also take a boat ride through the canals or along the coast. One of my favorite cities in Sweden. The lock complex is super interesting and there is so much to wander around. The complex is huge!
