Linkoping is nice, Have been there a couple of times over the years visiting my daughter. This time I stayed at Scandic between trains as the location is excellent - close to the railway station and the city centre. I would stay there again if I get a cool room. I did stay there again 27 - 28/7 and got a cool room facing the street thanks to Abbe. He was very helpful and interacted very nicely with family with children at check-in. Abbe gets *****!Guest review byLisaSweden - 8.0
Like a mini-manchester but with a Scandinavian touch.
Like a mini-manchester but with a Scandinavian touch. An insane amount of beautiful jugend architecture in a town for this size. It's fun to walk around and take it in. The redeveloped area around the worker's museum is highly recommended with a collection of good bars and restaurants and galleries.Guest review byJoelSweden - 10.0

We went on a Wednesday when there was an old car meet up. Great buzz in the city. Live band playing and really lovely places to eat and drink outside. Also beautiful walk by the castle and church. Recommend a visit!Guest review byYvonneSweden - 8.0

We were travelling over to Gothenburg so this was a great little stop over town en route. We visited the motor museum (which was actually rather good) and took a walk around the waterfront. Some nice bistros and eateries there, all you would need for a short stay. We sadly missed the broadcasting/radio museum nearby as it was closed. The town square itself is nice but there are a quite a few more modern buildings that look a little brutal. We moved on to Vadstena which was a short drive away and a fantastic place to visit. All in all Motala is a great base and to drive to lots of attractions in the surrounding areas. Thumbs up!Guest review byAnonymousSweden - 10.0

Animal experience, Dolphin show, rides and bamse world overall a nice fun day. Plan your stay so that you don't spend time in Q. Book animal experience in advance. Carry food and water, its expensive in park.Guest review byMayurSweden - 8.0

Linköping's charm lies in its peaceful atmosphere and proximity to nature. However, the long, dark winters can take a toll, and the city's nightlife and cultural offerings may not satisfy those seeking a more vibrant urban experience. While the city is well-connected to other parts of Sweden, public transportation can be limited outside of peak hours.Guest review byAleksandarSerbia - 10.0
Now-defunct industrial city center was beautifully converted...
Now-defunct industrial city center was beautifully converted to an arts-and-entertainment district, including several museums, shops, galleries, theater/convention center/concert hall, cafes, restaurants. Quite some investment is going on here - the city even affords a symphonic orchestra (unfortunately we didn't manage to catch a performance). Simply walking around and exploring the many little shops and cafes is a wonderful experience. Big river flowing through the center is cascading over dams, offering unusual sights / photo opportunities. A little park created riverside is also very pleasant. With the Göta canal and the archipelago close by, there are many additional outdoor options. About 2 hours from Stockholm, Norrköping is at least worth a day trip or an overnight. Highly recommended!Guest review byRainerGermany - 10.0

The weather wasn't as pleasant as we had hoped, but one can't blame Vadstena for that. The castle is well worth a guided visit, and the town is very pleasant for walking, with lake-front paths and many small shops (be careful - they shut at 15.00 on Saturdays).Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Very good zoo with lots of animals, safari ride, amusement park, delphin show and huge roller coaster. All included in the ticket. Definetly worth the 2-day ticket. We spend 8 hours in the park both days.Lots of different dining options too.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Lots to do in Linköping, particularly if you are interested in walks or hiking in nature. A charming and well-organized town. Easy to get around on the busses, or just to walk about the town (in Summertime anyway).Guest review bySimonSouth Africa
