The room was great!
The room was great! Being able to go to the pool or just walk down to the beach was awesome. There’s great restaurants in the area and a grocery store near the villas as well that is within walking distance. Nice area. Definitely go eat at Betos. If you want to be at the beach everyday El Zonte may not be the place to stay. The beach was very rocky with not much sand. I stood at La Guitarra in El Tunco and walked to El Sunzal. It was a great walk because you get to see all the surfers. It wasn't a long walk but long enough to see the other hotels while walking the beach. The management and staff were nothing short of amazing. They were all just truly wonderful people. The food in the restaurant was nothing short of AMAZING!! The seclusion and small size resulted in a mellow kicked-back vibe that we were looking for. I'm pretty sure we'll come back in the future and stay for a week. Amazing place and a must visit in El Salvador. Easily one of my favorite countries now. There was so much to do and I feel like I didn't scratch the surface. In the area there are many tours and things to do and Ubers are super cheap so renting a car wasn't at all necessary for us but it is an option if you plan on doing longer day trips. El Zonte is a very chill and relaxed place which made it nice for us to end our trip there. We walked wherever we needed to go. This is not the place for night life, but the place to unwind. El Sunzal is great if you surf.
El Sunzal is great if you surf. Sunset and sunrise are amazing. It is touristy so prices are a little higher. Bleachers are sandy in some spots but very rocky in others, so depending on where you stay access to beach is variable. We stayed at Casa de mar. Aside from the amazing service, restaurant and rooms this hotel is truly a gem as far as the it installation and views. It’s pretty far away from the city near the cliff and ocean which makes me relax even more. A vibrant small town but very much focused on surfers. Those who do not take part in surfing should also visit because there are plenty of things to do besides surfing. The beach is perfect but be warned there is limited space for swimming and you need to be careful because there are rocks at a number of locations that you must avoid. When the tide is out you can see the rocks. Walking along the beach and around the El Zonte area is easy and enjoyable so for several days I totally recommend a visit to El Zonte.Guest review byPeterIreland
