Opinion is divided on pattaya as lots of people see it as just an adult entertainment city and nothing else but there is so much more too it. Due to the vast array of different people who visit pattaya there are hundreds of diverse shops restaurants and services which cater to all cultures and tastes and you can sample them all there is no frowning on of ethnic backgrounds in pattaya you can be from anywhere and you will be welcomed. Another interesting thing about this place is it is very busy yet you can find many tranquil relaxing places to chill amongst the madness. I planned a week here and found enough to do. The food scene is most interesting. Affordable Japanese, Thai & seafood. Koh Si Chang was disappointing, but didnt see it all. For most travellers, a few days. Its busy, its different! Authentic Thai + Japanese culture without the commercial tourism. I like this area because it is a short distance to the hustle and bustle of Pattaya or Jomtien, but it is quieter and less expensive. If you're looking for a party atmosphere, this isn't it. I've lived in Thailand now for 1.5 years and this was easily the worst 'vacation' experience yet, including 3 months here as a tourist in 2023. It's almost as if Bang Saen is anti-farang, maybe because Pattaya is only an hour south? It was as though I was an alien wandering a foreign land -- caught numerous people pointing me out to their friends as though they've never seen a white person before. The beach is so terrible that I hesitate to call it 'a beach'. Trash everywhere, water literally unswimmable due to logs, metal poles, and general debris. All the restaurants are also music clubs and everyone is confused and somewhat dismissive of farang -- can't get a drink, can't get anyone's attention. Once again, maybe the thought is that all farang belong in Pattaya or something and they want to keep Bang Saen only for the locals. Regardless, it was a complete waste of 2 days of holiday. And just to crown it all off, my 09:40 bus never came. Of course there was no apology or explanation, just a new ticket for the next bus back to Bangkok in an hour. hill side villa does not have swimming pool attached in the house you have to walk 4 minutes walk to the public pool . You have to check the photo clealy before made booking. The villa have no car park in the house you have to park beside the road in front of the house. The villa have 2 bedrooms but have only one air condition in one bedroom the other room have only the fan. The villa is not well maintenance even have wifi but didn't work.
