Lampang is a charming town with just enough to do for a few days to feel both relaxing and fulfilling. The river, historic bridges, wats, old town, architecture, and food were all draws. Lots of murals and symbols (chickens, horses), a very quiet pace, and friendly people. The things to see are very accessible on foot, but a unique way to see the city is to hire a horse carriage for an hour (about 500 baht). Some of the cafes and restaurants near the river are great quality and have super atmosphere. It is a city to stroll around and explore, enjoying the relaxed pace and sights.
