Chiang Mai is a city of temples and scenic beauty.
Chiang Mai is a city of temples and scenic beauty. We loved the stay there and would definitely recommend for a short getaway from the busy life. We managed to get a good taxi driver Han who took us around the places and we managed to find good vegetarian/ Vegan food choices in the restaurants. It is quite budget friendly and you may want to choose the places you would like to visit. Traffic can be heavy during the morning rush hour and evening time. Night markets are amazing with a lot of handicraft choices. Do not forget to get a massage to relieve your stress. Botanical garden is a must visit place!Guest review byVPahwaSingapore - 10.0

I wasn’t sure about taking the extra trip to Chiang Rai but it was so worth it. It’s a more relaxed vibe than Chiang Mai. It feels very authentically Thailand with beautiful scenery. There’s lots to explore close by and compared to anywhere else I’ve travelled in Thailand I found it cheaper. There’s a great Saturday night market where lots of the locals come together for food, music and dancing.Guest review byMandyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Beautiful place destroyed by young travelers mainly Germans and British coming for the tipsy tubing on the river...really stupid and dangerous attraction...The authority should stop this! Otherwise it remains a beautiful area to visit.Guest review byMatthieuSpain - 10.0

Sukothai's National Park with the ruins of the temples were probably THE BEST I've ever seen. Breathtakingly beautiful and amazing. Don't miss the separate temple ruins at Wat Sri Chum. Ethereal!Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 4.0
There really isn't much there to see as a tourist.
There really isn't much there to see as a tourist. The city is not pretty or anything special. We were at Sukhothai and decided to travel here to extend our mini vacation. I would not recommend it for a visit. The only highlight for me was the SGT MAJ Folk Museum. This is a must see, if you are ever in the city.Guest review byNashboroguyThailand - 6.0

I found a lot of the locals to be quite stand offish with white people. It was the only town we visited that felt like that in all of northern thailand. for that reason, I would not come back to Lampang.Guest review byJustineAustralia - 10.0

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lhong Chiang Dao Glamping in Chiang Mai, and I can confidently say it was one of the most incredible hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the host and staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and comfortable. Every request we made was met with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, which made our stay even more special. The glamping site itself is immaculately maintained, with cleanliness being a top priority. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall 24/7, it truly felt like we were immersed in nature. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle of everyday life and reconnect with the serene beauty of the outdoors. One of the most magical moments was at night—around 11 PM onwards, the sky came alive with countless stars, offering an awe-inspiring view you rarely get to experience in the city. If you’re looking for a solid glamping experience with unparalleled hospitality, breathtaking natural surroundings, and starry skies, Lhong Chiang Dao Glamping is the place to go. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful yet enriching escape. Thank you to the entire team for making this a stay to remember!Guest review byTanSingapore - 10.0

Nan is an interesting town... There are lots of temples and history from when it was a kingdom. I was visiting during the low season, but during my 10-day visit, I could see something every day. But you must realize that this is not a holiday site where you can enjoy daily fun and entertainment.Guest review byHarri PekkaFinland - 10.0

Our visit to Khao Kho was a refreshing escape to the mountains. Despite arriving during a tropical storm, we were welcomed warmly by the local staff. We were pleasantly surprised to wake up to a sea of clouds, an unexpected and breathtaking sight.Guest review byTimThailand - 10.0
I wish I had, had more time to look around Phetchabun.
I wish I had, had more time to look around Phetchabun. I will go and stay longer at some time in the future. The hotel has a separate building were they serve breakfast and guest were made welcome to use this facility in the evening. We therefore, took a short walk to the market and brought food back for a family meal with the hotel providing crockery, cutlery and the use of the electric stove and microwave. We did however, make sure we washed everything and tidied the place when we were finished. You could feed the plentiful fish in the river 100 meters away which the young children really enjoyed.Guest review byPaulThailand
