Chiang Mai is a city of temples and scenic beauty. We loved the stay there and would definitely recommend for a short getaway from the busy life. We managed to get a good taxi driver Han who took us around the places and we managed to find good vegetarian/ Vegan food choices in the restaurants. It is quite budget friendly and you may want to choose the places you would like to visit. Traffic can be heavy during the morning rush hour and evening time. I wasn’t sure about taking the extra trip to Chiang Rai but it was so worth it. It’s a more relaxed vibe than Chiang Mai. It feels very authentically Thailand with beautiful scenery. There’s lots to explore close by and compared to anywhere else I’ve travelled in Thailand I found it cheaper. There really isn't much there to see as a tourist. The city is not pretty or anything special. We were at Sukhothai and decided to travel here to extend our mini vacation.
