The location was great, it was very close to the centre area (with restaurants, shops etc.) and the Viewpoint for hot-air balloons (and sunset/sunrise) . We went there by car from the airport - and it was quite easy to get to the hotel, even with the narrow streets (there's also parking space available). We were unlucky with the weather, so we couldn't go on the hot-air balloon rides - but thankfully on the day of departure the balloons flew - so we got the chance to see them from the hotel's terrace! There were very few people there, so we had plenty of space for photos as well & some of the balloons flew very close to us - it was an amazing view! The included breakfast was very good, there were plenty of choices (cold and warm dishes) - we never managed to finish everything; the opening hours also allowed us to have breakfast before being picked up for our morning tours. The staff was very friendly and they can also help with joining different activities (eg. horse-riding, balloon-rides, shows etc.). They gave us suites with private terrace and the view is amazing. Our bathroom is massive with a a wonderful view from bathtub. My most favorite part of the room is the heated floor!! Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday. It is a lovely small town next to Goreme (famous for the hot air balloon rides and pointed rock structures) so its a short ride away with none of the hustle and bustle of a touristy town. It has many local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, to eat at without breaking the bank. There is a promenade with on the river with jungle gyms and play areas for little kids. Goreme is a fantastic tourist destination and a must see when in Turkey. The pre-paid Booking.com transfer service just never turned up at the airport or even communicated with us, resulting in us having to take a private taxi atr a substantial premium. I would strongly recommend the airport shuttle service. Getting around Goreme is somewhat confusing without internet and digital support. Beautiful and quiet place. Less busy and less expensive than Georme. Locations near Uçhisar castle is very lively but rule is same. closer your stay to main hub costly and busier it gets.
