- From $79.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 125 reviewsThis B&B (美芹居 Machigo) is the perfect way to enjoy the old-world Chinbe (芹壁) lifestyle. I had a clean, comfortable room with a nice view of the ocean, a/c, and roomy private bathroom. (Note that for room 202, the bathroom isn't connected; however, it's just a couple of steps from the room and still private for room 202. There are only two rooms on this floor so it was no problem at all.) The owner, Ms. Chen (陳小姐), was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. She provided transportation to/from the airport, prepared simple but satisfactory breakfasts each morning, arranged a reliable rental scooter, and helped me get boat tickets to nearby Daqiu (大坵島) "Deer Island." I would definitely stay here again.Guest review bySteve4nLanguageTaiwan
- From $132.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 83 reviewsThe host Ms Chou really went out of her way to accommodate us. She’s punctual, easy to reach on Line during the stay which was helpful to arrange airport transfer and anything else we needed during the trip. We stayed at house #31. It’s in the middle of Chinbe village. The house was clean and well prepared for us to check in. The hot shower was great. View was simply amazing. We will surely stay there again if we go back to Beigan.Guest review byJenny Chao MinTaiwan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsThis guesthouse was a great find. It was one of the cheapest options available, but the owner was extremely kind and accommodating. She picked us up at the airport, dropped us off at the harbor, picked us up a the harbor, then dropped us off at the airport again. The room was clean and comfortable, and there are food options nearby.Guest review byErinUnited States

He even helped me craft a sightseeing plan! While there were no "blue tears" when I was there, I still enjoyed my trip a lot!Guest review byRobertUnited States
- From $89.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 131 reviewsThe clerk is highly friendly and helpful, and responded timely. The location is perfect and convenient on the island. Though no brilliant ocean views from the room, we walk out and it is always there, day and night.Guest review byyu-wenTaiwan

Nangan is a little treasure - an ecological wonderland rolled into a frontline venue for Chinese-Taiwan conflict. There are lots of military sites to visit including the amazing Beihai tunnels. I did much walking on both Nangan and Beigan - including villages with their stone houses. Pity I couldn’t get to see the sika deer or blue tears. Can’t see everything.Guest review byCliffPhilippines - 10.0
We truly enjoyed our two day stay on Beigan.
We truly enjoyed our two day stay on Beigan. The owners of our homestay in Qinbi, 芹壁幸福海岸民宿-民宿編號051, were very hospitable. Beigan is a nice combination of nature, culture, and military history. The highlights of our stay were hiking the Luoshan Nature Trail, eating lunch at 金魚水手作坊, drinking tea while enjoying the views from our homestay, taking the ferry to see the sika deer on Daqiu, and getting to see the "blue tears".Guest review byCherylUnited States - 8.0

Beautiful, tropical-feeling island 20 nautical miles off the coast of the PRC mainland, this is a chapter in history kept alive with its abundant military fortresses, tunnels, inspiring patriotic slogans everywhere, and continued military presence. If you want to understand the Chinese Civil War and how it's impacted the ROC, come here (or to Kinmen.) Must visit for a real understanding of how modern Taiwan and ROC came to be. Also plenty of trails, sandy beaches, and animal encounters scattered throughout the islands known as Matsu. Most surprising were the lovely little bistros and bars and great restaurant gems tucked away in its villages!Guest review byJarinTaiwan - 8.0

We came to Nangan to hike one of Taiwan's Small 100 Mountains, however we got so much more from our stay. It is a beautiful scooter drive around the island. We enjoyed exploring the small villages with stone houses as well as the historic military locations. The highlight was a hike through the geopark followed by an evening of photographing the "blue tears" right, both just outside of our amazing homestay, Matsu Seaside View Homestay.Guest review byCherylUnited States - 10.0
Compared to the main island of Nagnan.
Compared to the main island of Nagnan. Beigan is more authentic and quiet. Nangan does have more to offer, in terms of comfort but Beigan is more authentic. Definitely check out the stone villages. It is easier if you have a scooter, but you can rent a taxi for the day or take limited bus schedule.Guest review byJonathanCanada
