The room was huge, shower and tub was huge and it even came with a bidet. Honestly value-for-money despite the pricier rates. The public hot spring was decent too. But the greatest part of the stay was the breakfast - wide spread of honestly quite high quality. High quality shabu shabu beef for breakfast??? Sign me up! Highway 8 crossing central Taiwan from West to East.
Highway 8 crossing central Taiwan from West to East. However, part the highway has been closed due to geohazar disaster. Heping the the last town on the way to the closed road. Heping is a small town, located by southern hill of the valley, and famoused with it's clear hot spring. Every year, Thousands of hounderd travelers came from around the world to stay here, to enjoy it hot spring, mountain trails, and special local mountain foods. Carrefour in Taroko Mall near Train station has good selection of grocery items. Prices are okay. Not far from seaside and beach, maybe one hour by bus. People were helpful, in general. Rented a car in Taichung.
Rented a car in Taichung. Went to Sun Moon Lake, Gao Mei Wetlands, Cinjing Farm and Zhongshe Flower Market. We had 3 nights in Taichung and I find that it was sufficient to enjoy these attractions. Driving around in Taichung is easier than in Taipei. The traffic was lighter and having a car in highly recommended.Guest review byflyknightSingapore
