This is a great location, not too far off the beaten path and a great drop off location for exploring. You can pay to use beaches near by and go for a drive to other villages. The meals were fantastic and really reasonably priced. Breakfast was included.

Kipepeo Beach Village is a hidden gem! Loved everything from the simple yet comfortable banda's to affordable and good food. There is nothing better than having a good night sleep and being woken by the sound of the ocean waves in the morning. The staff was amazing! Aisha at the reception was great. Same as the servers. Naima was sweet and patient. Dorothy in the booking office helped me arrange an airport shuttle which was nice. The beach is clean and you can go on long walks; I think I walked for like two hours up north and I was still okay. A great place if you are looking for a peaceful vacation. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again!

    We checked in past midnight and was greeted by the friendly staff. We had a large room with very comfortable beds and it was the perfect place to relax after a long flight. Airport transfers were arranged by the hotel which helped us greatly, considering our flights were during odd hours. The hotel was also conveniently located near the airport too.

    I relocated from the Peacock Hotel to The Southern Sun Hotel...

    I relocated from the Peacock Hotel to The Southern Sun Hotel, and this was the best decision I made. The coral beach and slipway were great to hang out at and eat. Bolt was the God sent and easy way to get around Dar es Salaam, and reasonably priced. I enjoy a trip to Zanzibar, which takes about 2 hours by boat, and its Tanzania's Paradise.
