Beautiful bungalows with a huge garden directly in front of the beach. All the bungalows have a big glass front where you can see the garden and at some locations the beach. Incredibly nice staff - try to help and accommodate wherever they can. Could change the room without problems as I needed AC to be able to sleep (March can be incredibly hot and humid). Even came back to the hotel after diving on the other side of the island. Everything seems a bit rustic as first but you will definitely fall in love with it. There is a really really nice gift shop with handicrafts on site - really nice woman from the village, definitely one to support. The locations to the beach is super close and to the left there are two more hotels you can go for dinner or a drink. People all know each other on Mafia and help you with everything! :) Breakfast is great!

Lovely clean hotel in excellent location. the AC is key! It is hot here. Pool was lovely, food was good. Staff pleasant and front desk very helpful. Rooms were clean.

I recently spent a weekend at Butiama Camp, perfectly located in the heart of the Marine Park. The setting couldn’t be better — peaceful, scenic, and just steps from the sea. The Big Blu Diving Centre offers a wide range of activities for both divers and non-divers, making it ideal for all interests. The food was varied and delicious, and the service throughout was exceptionally attentive.

4.8 miles from Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve in Utende, kua garden cottage provides accommodations with access to a hot tub. This bed and breakfast features a garden as well as a bar.

I have no word to describe the kindness of Hassan to welcome in his garden. Everything is curated and comfortable. Restaurant is delicious and the atmosphere in the garden under the stars is simply amazing. This place is a must if in Mafia. The room is also comfortable, mosquitoes free and clean. Hassan also organize and suggest great tours with selected guides. You can completely rely on him and his staff

The staff was amazing, very hospitable and took care of everything. Breakfast and dinner was great, they have a really great chef and attentive personnel. They also rented us bikes for free, such that we could drive to the dive shop (~10 minutes by bike). Great and inexpensive stay!

Kileleni has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Kilindoni. Free WiFi and room service are offered. At the resort, rooms contain a closetand a balcony with a garden view.

The property is beautiful, food is delicious, and the staff was very kind. I highly recommend Butiama to anyone traveling abroad. Magida island was phenomenal because of their hospitality.
