The vibes are great — everything you need is nearby, including shops, restaurants, and tour offices. Restaurants on the beach tend to be a bit pricey, but if you take a short walk into the side streets, you’ll find places offering the same quality food at much more reasonable prices. What I didn’t like were the beach boys — they’re nice and friendly, but can be a bit annoying as they keep trying to sell things. They’re not too pushy, but it’s hard to relax when someone approaches you every couple of minutes. The only time you can truly enjoy some peace is early in the morning. Important note : you have to strongly negotiate the prices and people are very nice and easy going Try to learn few words from their language they will be super happy :)Guest review byRaafat - 10.0

Zanzibar is an amazing destination with beautiful beaches, friendly people, and a rich culture. Stone Town is full of history and character, and the spice farms, sandbanks, and snorkeling trips make the experience unforgettable. The food is delicious, especially the seafood, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. I highly recommend visiting Zanzibar for anyone looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It was a great stay for me and my family. The best part of this hotel is the entire staff. Extremely friendly and courteous.Always smiling and greeting at every opportunity.A special thanks goes to Fadhila who made us and especially my daughter feel very special and welcome. The Manager was also very friendly and polite.Overall I would rate my stay as exceptional.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King George or similar hotels - this is not your place. But if you are looking for clean beaches, clear sea, delicious food, peace, close contact with nature, friendly and courteous staff - this is it. There are many bars and small restaurants along the coast that offer a variety of food. In addition, in the town (of course African) you can buy products that are very fresh, and the people are friendly. Here you can buy handmade jewelry and souvenirs from the local population and the Masai.Guest review byK.ZgurovBulgaria - 10.0
Matemwe was nice - the beach part.
Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.Guest review bySonya B.N.Austria - 10.0

The beach is arguably one of the best on the island—long, swimmable, and vibrant. While it has more energy and amenities than a secluded spot, we still found it peaceful and relaxing, especially during the mornings. It's the perfect base for anyone who wants both stunning beach life and easy access to restaurants and activities.Guest review byAnnaMalaysia - 8.0

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are absolutely fabulous and relatively clean. I got bitten by sand fleas on my legs because I spend a lot of time in the sea and walked barefoot. There is a lot of informal trade on the beach by locals trying to sell something. Maybe even more so if you are a woman walking alone.Guest review byCatharinaSouth Africa - 10.0

Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying .
Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable. Greetings Paula& Johannes from The Netherlands . We are looking forward to come back again .Guest review byJohannesNetherlands - 10.0

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom
