I expected Bar Harbor to be much more cheap/tacky of a tourist hub than it was. Everything was pricey but good quality and more thoughtful than I expected. All the food we had was very good and there are many sea/farm to table non-chain restaurant options. Visiting Acadia from here was super convenient, especially the hub for the Island Express.Guest review byJessicaUnited States - 8.0
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful.
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.Guest review byKristinUnited States - 10.0

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.Guest review byDebUnited States - 10.0
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property.
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.Guest review byDonaldUnited States - 8.0
Bar Harbor is beautiful, compact and near national park.
Bar Harbor is beautiful, compact and near national park. Ate both meals at Bar Harbor Inn, fantastic views and food. Shopped on main street, many souvenir shops, not cutesy stuff I expected. Took small road trip to tip of island to visit lighthouse, well worth the short trip. Drinks at Ivy inn (missed the music, ends at 5p) but nice people watching. Paid to park in the lot near the BH Inn. Wish we had more time there, hope to returnGuest review byMaryUnited States - 8.0

Didn't realize their was a town until the afternoon of our last day Food better on Bat Harbor. If Chance have breakfast at Cafe T his Way At 9:00 ,am we only had to.wait 5I MIn to be seated. Food prices were reasonable and the food is astounding! Tony, the guy in front. Was very friendly and remembered my name when we left.Guest review bySchade - 10.0
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.Guest review byRandalUnited States - 6.0
Loved the close proximity to
Loved the close proximity to Acadia NP which was main reason for coming up to Bar Harbor. Shops were fun, restaurants were mixed. Did not enjoy traveling with my daughter in law we got lost every time we went somewhere, but that is not your fault. Overall Bar Harbor was a place I would visit again with someone other than DIL>Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Beautiful area with easy access to the park, carriage roads and hiking trails. 20 mins to Bar Harbor, 20 mins to SW Harbor and Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Sweet little village, walking distance from hotel, with groceries, eateries and shops.Guest review byLindaUnited States
