California is amazing! So much to do and explore you couldn’t possibly get bored! It’s a very beautiful place. You get the ocean, beaches, beautiful sunsets, piers, mountains rains, snow , lots of exercise lol the landscaping and the Spanish style homes and the way it’s all nestled tightly in the sides of mountains where everywhere there’s a view. We loved walking around the area. We felt very safe. I would recommend doing some tours right away to get a sense of the city. Some tours are far better than others. We loved eating at Bourdin's. We also enjoyed the Waymo. Download the app and experience a driverless car. Ride the trolley. We toured Muir Woods and Sausalito. The zoo is amazing, Little Italy is popular for the food. Pt Loma Seafood Market is a favorite among locals. Shelter Island offers a great place to get your daily walk in. Visit the lighthouse and Rosecrans cemetery for views to the Bay on one side and the ocean on the other. Balboa Park has wonderful museums, outdoor theatre, an Imax (?) The city was clean and nice. We felt safe walking late at night. There were some mental heath homeless people at night. But durning the day we did not see anyone sketchy. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. We has a car and were able to see other areas that were not as well kept as Anaheim. I wish I would have planned to stay longer, The downtown and riverfront area looked fantastic. I was able to spend a morning paddling at Fulsom Lake, which was a short drive from the hotel, and it was just spectacular. I liked the area of the property as its right next to the on and off ramp for the Hwy. Its right next to the Denny's, well as a Walmart super center! Theres also Wendys, and Starbucks across the street! Its far enough from the inner city were there tends to be a lot of riff raff as well low scale crime, as well as drugs. I felt at peace, and you can tell that the management puts a lot towards 2training her staff! Real good hard-working staff as well as very courteous and attentive to the guests needs! Unfortunately most museums and the botanical gardens were closed when we were there, we arrived Monday and left Thursday, it seems to be a city that mostly works Thursday to Sunday.
