Great area for night life or families. Tons of restaurants of all kinds in the area. Nalu and Mama Maria's are our favorites. Fenwick Island was a pleasant surprise.
Fenwick Island was a pleasant surprise. We have visited some other beaches on the Eastern Shore, but never Fenwick. It is much smaller than the other beaches and much quieter. The beach was never crowded and we were always able to find a spot close to the water with plenty of room to spread out with beach umbrellas, chairs, and blankets. Lifeguards are onsite. The beach was not crowded like neighboring beaches. After going in several shops, I realized that the people there were unusually helpful. There was lots of shopping - outlets, boutiques and even Walmart. The beach was great!
The beach was great! The beach was very clean and the sand was very soft. There were plenty of life guards all long the beach which made you feel very safe. We really enjoyed the Labor Day Jazz Funeral. We have never experienced anything like that before and we were amazed at the amount by the show of support by the local people that came out to welcome the lifeguards back in at the season and participate in the Jazz funeral procession where they say goodbye to Summer. We enjoyed it so much that we decided that this is where we went to go every Labor Day from now on! I have traveled a lot and been to many different beaches but I would definitely recommend Bethany Beach to anyone who just wants to have a relaxing time at a beach that isn't over commercialized and where the local people are very friendly!Guest review byBeverlyUnited States - 6.0

Seemed like a decent little town. We were just down there for work and needed a place to relax and sleep for the night. We didn't do the tourist thing. But driving through Long Neck and leaving we saw a lot of restaurants and gas stations and stores. For being such a small little town. We ordered from Domino' because thats what we were used to. Next time I would try some of the local pizza shops. We weren't there long to really judge or give an opinion on the town. Very comfortable and inviting apartment with a great view. The grounds are very well kept and have access to the water. It is near Bethany Beach but in its own separate community with supermarket and restaurants. The place was well equipped, parking was safe and convenient; it has a huge pool and we found nice walking trails less than a mile away. We went in the Fall and had the grounds to ourselves. Selbyville is a perfect location for vacationers, as it sits at the DE/MD line. The property we rented for the week is just off Rt 54, which takes you right up to Rt 1 (Coastal Highway). Turn left on Rt 1 and you're immediately in Fenwick Island. Keep heading up Rt 1 and you can hit Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes (take a ride on the Lewes Ferry, which takes you over to Cape May, NJ), etc. Turn right on Rt 1 and you’re less than ¼ mile from the Maryland State line, which will take you down to Ocean City & their famous boardwalk. Besides miles and miles of beaches, there are a ton of restaurants close by, as well water parks, lots of miniature golf locations, State Park beaches (along with public beaches), Tanger Outlets, etc. BTW, when you’re in Delaware, you can enjoy tax free shopping! Since you’re basically “in the middle” when in Selbyville, you’re close to everything that you’d like to do, whether that’s in Delaware or Maryland.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

Great beach, I would most definitely recommend it for anyone with children of any age, older parents, anyone just looking to relax and chill this is THE SPOT. The vibe is AMAZING. Crabby Dicks was GREAT, good food Great service. Our server Serjio was PERFECT n the food 😋 😋 😋 😋. Chinatown Buffet was good, but could have been MUCH MUCH BETTER. It was a beautiful place to visit. Walkable to everything and the weather was great in Mid October! Jean jacket perfect towards the evening, short sleeves in the daytime. The Lighthouse restaurant behind Hotel Dewey had wonderful food! Lots of other great restaurants as well. The beach was behind Hotel Dewey and The Hyatt Place Hotel, and we were 2 women walking alone at night and felt very safe. Most people were friendly, and we drove to the pier with shops, restaurants, etc., abt 7 mins away.
