It’s hard to pinpoint the precise reason for being fond of a particular hotel. Call it atmosphere, or character perhaps. For me, this hotel is a sweet reminder of the way things were long ago, when it was common for hotels to provide temporary homes for ordinary people, as well as providing for travelers. How nice to find a comfy place that has an old familiar feel.

We went to celebrate my birthday.

We went to celebrate my birthday. Victoria is an amazing city. Foodies would love it, the locals are very friendly and helpful. The crime element was not visible to us, nor was the homeless. The immigration and customs process, both going and coming from Port Angeles ferry was efficient and fast. I can't wait to return to Vancouver Island!

We were blown away by the town itself.

We were blown away by the town itself. I hadn’t been there in years when it wasn’t worth a visit. However now total change. Some of the best stores I’ve seen on the island and elsewhere. Lovely coffee shops and restaurants. I would like to recommend the Atlas restaurant for superb food. You cannot make reservations unless you are a group of 6 but well worth the visit We went to the Sid Williams theatre for the first time to see the Eagles. It was fabulous, packed with seniors reliving their memories The Country Market was also equal to something you would find in a big city. We had an amazing lunch there. The choices were amazing and we took home some lovely breads and assorted fruit and meats I honestly cannot say enough about Courtenay it is well worth a visit. I have to say it is pricey but well worth it nonetheless

I've been coming here for almost 20 years regularly. My daughter lives right next door to you. So i visit often.I choose to get a room when i show up unannounced so i don't invade her privacy...I know all of the stores, restaurants and coffee shops It's a wonderful getaway.

We come to Campbell River to visit our daughter and her family and always enjoy our stay. We sometimes go our on their boat and also for many years we vacationed on Quadra Island at Rebecca Spit, another beautiful place. The museum is a great place to visit and learn about the whole area around Campbell River. Lots of good restaurants.

The town is quaint and a bit sleepy at this time of year (after Labour Day) but the natural surroundings are stunning and exceed expectations. The beaches we saw and the trails we hiked were magnificent. A few restaurants were not open for dinner at this time of year so a bit challenging to eat at times but there’s a co-op in town (grocery store) and a pizza place which was excellent. Easy to navigate in the town; driving distance to Tofino also.

It's a seaside town with an air base, an air museum, a marina and various parks. BC generally isn't big on organised attractions, and though there are paths along coasts you won't find ice cream vans, bucket and spade shops etc. This is Canadian seaside, and it's very different from the Victorian English vision of what a seaside resort should be like.
