Montauk is beautiful. It feels like you’re away in the Caribbean but it’s just a few hour drive which makes it perfect if you’re close to NY and don’t want to fly. There are beaches, restaurants and shopping to fulfill everyone’s needs. It’s family friendly too.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The Hamptons, North and South Shores of Long Island are beautiful. It was great to be back home. Riverhead has become a very lovely town; visit all the local wineries and restaurants and beach. Perfect location to see all of Long Island East End. Local farmstands are wonderful. For those that don't know New York.........visit the HAMPTONS and Riverhead is a perfect location as your hub. Canoe trips along the river are a fun day sport if you're up to "portages". Drive down Dune Road and awe the mansions. Visit the DUCK!Guest review byRalphUnited States - 8.0

Location of hotel is very good. Room size is good. Room service too. Shortage of lights in the room. Beds are very comfortable. Pillows are also very nice. Double bed width is not enough for 2 persons. Carpet of all the places became very old and giving bad smell. Corridor side wallpaper are in a bad position. It's tearing off. I often stay in garden City for a lot of practical reasons: convenient access from the airports, access to my meetings. The hotel should be considered a "classic". It is not too modern nor too old style. Staff is very professional and helpful. The restaurant offers a good choice of amazing dishes. The staff was lovely but the accommodations were weak at best! The bed was way too small. I booked a king size bed....I thought! The room was small, dark and noisy and had a weird chemical smell as if to hide a foul odor. And....no itemized bill upon check-out! Cost over $300.00 for a room that wasn't worth it. Worst breakfast than any Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at. Got sick from room smell told them did nothing till next day. never checked my reservation for the next weekend which they told me they would computer in there facility did not wrok was just night mare. Rockville Centre had a very nice restaurant, The Pantry, where we had an excellent dinner on Christmas Day, and our hotel, Best Western Mill River Manor, provided quick and easy access (a 2-minute walk from the hotel) to the Rockville Centre Long Island Railroad (LIRR) station where we were able to choose any one of numerous trains to Manhattan via Central Station or Penn Station. This Hilton is a disgrace to the Hilton name brand. Staff not friendly or helpful. Room was very dirty. Lamps didn't work, corridor to room had wires exposed the whole time of our 5 day stay.
