My family and I haven't been to Mackinaw City in over 20 years. We were so happy to be able to get back there. It's a cute little city with plenty of restaurants, shopping and things for kids to do. It's also very dog friendly! There's plenty of parking and it also has a nice public bathroom area. You won't be disappointed, there's something for everyone to enjoy!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

So much to explore! We visited the lighthouses and sleeping bear dunes. Tried to explore the commons shopping area, but couldn't seem to get there. Could have used a better map. Hopefully we can check it out next time. Lots of road construction made it a challenge to navigate an unfamiliar city. Views were stunning along the bay. We hope to visit again perhaps next spring. Parking was definitely an issue. We passed on exploring some shops and restaurants because parking couldn't be found.Guest review byHarold - 8.0

We loved Grand Rapids and there was so much more we could have explored had we had more time. We plan on coming back soon though! We loved the Lantern Festival and Meijer Gardens. Great city and area for tourism! Impressive architecture (both modern and Art Deco) and great art! We particularly liked the Diego Rivera mural at the DIA and the Fisher and Guardian buildings, as well as the Henry Ford Museum and Cranbrook. Some excellent restaurants - we enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Selden Standard. Also enjoyed the river walk and walking and swimming at Belle Isle, as well as the “scrappy” lively and witty folk-art installations and murals scattered about the city.Guest review byDanielUnited States - 8.0

Great town for the Mackinaw area, away from the congestion of Mac. City. Downtown is growing and becoming more tourist friendly. Perfect base for UP adventures. Good places to eat is the Driftwood and Gangplank. Tourist trapped is the Mystery spot. The KFC in Auburn Hills on N. Opdyke street was really rude, but the chicken was great. We also ate at Jollibee's the food was ok the staff was friendly. We shopped at the Walmart in Rochester Hills the 2 young ladies that was signing people up for Walmart deliveries was really nice and helpful. We watch the fireworks from S.
