Great town for the Mackinaw area, away from the congestion of Mac. City. Downtown is growing and becoming more tourist friendly. Perfect base for UP adventures. Good places to eat is the Driftwood and Gangplank. Tourist trapped is the Mystery spot. Event parking is a little tight but if no events then plenty of room to spare for parking.Guest review byYuergens - 10.0
Downtown Marquette is really fun.
Downtown Marquette is really fun. We were there on a Saturday and found a great clothing store (which was having a sale). We had a fun meal in a sports bar with a view located on Washington St. They have fixed up the downtown nicely and have art work and places to walk around. It is a pleasant city center. There is a lake front park too. Marquette in the summer is a surprise. It is an old town but is a college town which gives it a nice ambience. Not certain about the winter but I have been told there is lots of sport activity in summer and winter.Guest review bySANDRAUnited States - 6.0
The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous.
The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous. We gained an hour getting there the night before from where we live. We tried to get something to eat in town at 8:00p.m (which was 7:00 for us) and nothing was open that said they were on a Thursday before Labor day. Finding a place to eat was absolutely frustrating and had to settle for a fast food burger or a Gas station pizza place.....ugh. Closing kitchens at 8pm seemed out of the norm for us especially in a tourist city. With nothing much else to offer outside of a beautiful landscape we probably would not return anytime soon for something to do and see.Guest review byVaughan - 10.0
My son loves the big boats.
My son loves the big boats. Being able to check on the app or call the hot line as to weekday what ships were coming when made the stay even better. There's so much to see there that it made the stay even better.Guest review byMargaretUnited States - 10.0
Great little town to drive through on a road trip!
Great little town to drive through on a road trip! Stayed in a very comfy king size bed at the Travelodge to split up our drive from Ontario to Minnesota, both ways! Lots of options for shopping, restaurants, fast food, banks etc. We ate at the Wendy's which was very clean and had friendly staff. We also visited the Walmart which was way bigger than we expected for a small town. Upper Peninsula, Michigan is such a wonderful area and we will definitely be visiting again.Guest review byClaireCanada - 8.0

It's a small, old town with not a lot to do during the winter months unless you're into outdoor sports. Only an hour from Green Bay, so it's not a bad drive for a get away. Interesting if you're into Wisconsin history.Guest review byTrixi.RouleeUnited States - 10.0
This was the perfect place to stay. Room was clean.
This was the perfect place to stay. Room was clean. Plenty of towels. Beds a bedding very cozy a comfortable. TV was large a many channels to choose from. More than one entrance to get to our room. Due to this was able to park real close to our room. Wetmore is maybe 1 mile from Munising, where all the action is. Boat tours of the Pictured Rocks that we took an highly recommend. There is a glass bottom boat tour of the shipwrecks in Lake Superior. We had very good meals at eh Burger as well as at DogPatch. Eh Burger was locally Veteran owned. Many different burger choices which also included Bison. Which is what we got. Very good burger. I recommend that if you get any of the French fry choices get only one basket if there are two of you. Dog Patch served local caught white fish, that I recommend .We had the cheese curds which was not covered in breading, yummy. Wonderful sit down restaurant. Service was fast. Falling Rock Cafe a Bookstore was a lovely little place. Not only can you get a great coffee a browse many used books they have a small area for children to play. Gift shops were available also to browse. This is all we did during our short less than one day trip to Munising. Highly recommend visiting this town on the Lake Superior shores.Guest review byCindyUnited States - 10.0

Didn't stay long enough to discover Newberry but we loved Timber Charlies, recommended for supper by front desk staff. It's an exceptionally professionally operated restaurant, from initial welcome and table assignment to service throughout the meal. The place was humming, tables were being over three times in the course of the evening, the staff all worked well together like a well-oiled machine. Food was great, too !Guest review byBarbaraCanada - 10.0

Ironwood is a great place to spend a few days many hiking trails and cool waterfalls, short staffed in many restaurants made it more difficult to find places to eat but this is happening in many areas. Ironwood is definitely worth exploring. I went to the area twice this past year and each time explored something different. I do not ski but the area looked like it would be a very fun place for a winter ski trip or a snowmobiling trip.Guest review byMargaretUnited States
