Just like its name, Mai Chau Hideaway Resort is really a hidden gem in Mai Chau. Yes, it's pretty remote and far from the main village attractions but the tranquility and spectacular scenery of the Hoa Binh lake makes the travelling totally worth it. My family rented the double rooms and family rooms. All of them are lakefront, spacious, spotlessly clean and very well designed to every interior details. Rooms are warm even without the heater (but there's a heater if you really need it). We had a great time just chillin' and using services provided at the resort - spas, boat trips to different landmarks on the lake, kayaking and bamboo rafting (free). The restaurant has a great menu with a fair price that we ended up having both of our dinners at the resort. Their buffet breakfast was delicious with a great variety of choices too. All members of the staff team were very friendly and helpful (Thank you Lộc, Quân, Dung, Vinh, Hạnh, Tim, Trung and others who we failed to ask for names). Next time I'd love to stay here again instead of the main villages (Ban Lac, Ban Poong Com), like most people would recommend.Guest review byLinhCanada

The owner was extremely helpful e.g. we got some recommendations of what to do and all of them were matching our preferences. To be honest, it was unforgettable experience, the owner surprised us many times with her personal attachement to every customer and us. The dinners cooked by the family are delicious and very generous (it costs extra 100k per person) but don't hesitate to ask for smaller portions! We also asked about some local specialties like bamboo sticky rice and they prepared them for us the same day for dinner. All the staff are kind. Their English was not very good but they took care of me with all their heart. Kim and Map the doggos are also "good boys", they are friendly, they love everyone. They cook in the style of their homeland, the dishes use mountain spices, very strange but also very delicious. Room rates, food and drink prices are cheap. City is big enough to feed and entertain you all the night. The dam is nice from every angle. Be aware foreigners need passport to buy a ticket to get there. Ba Vi park is nearby and fun to explore on motorcycle.
