The buffet breakfast was great and we could choose between Vietnamese options thru to cook breakfast or pastries. Lunch and dinner at the resort were also great and we also tried a local restaurant we found on Google with great reviews for local food. They also helped us get a car to Hanoi Noi Bai airport for after we checked out. Breakfast included has Vietnamese and Western options, and has vegetarian options. We had buffet style one day and ordered from a menu the other day. Bikes are available for rental, nothing fancy. Rooms are clean and pleasantly decorated. As far as I can make out, this town is a suburb/area of Ninh Binh, less than a mile from the train station. It is probably the friendliest place I've ever been - I think I was "helloed" by just about everyone under 10 I saw. But the highlights are really in the surrounding countryside, so I would recommend planning for a few days out to see the nature reserves and participate in the activities. We spent two days in Ninh Binh and could have easily spent a day or two longer. It's a very laid back area and there is lots to see. We stayed between Trang An and Tam Coc and used bicycles to get around. The quieter location suited us but for younger travellers Tam Coc is more vibrant. The walk to the top of Hang Mua viewpoint is best done in the early morning (we went before breakfast) so it isn't too crowded and not too hot. There were mountain goats roaming around when we walked up (around 7.00am) but they'd gone by the time we descended and more people were arriving. We didn't take the boat ride in Tam Coc but we took a boat ride in Trang An. The scenery seems more mountainous around Trang An than Tam Coc. On the day we went the water was high so we couldn't go into the caves and there was only one route open, which seemed to be a mix of the other routes. The boat trip lasted around 2.5 hours and was excellent. We also visited the old town at night, which was nice. It's all lit up and there are some good places to eat on the waterfront. Bich Dong temple is also worth visiting. There is a staircase leading up to a smaller shrine and to the left of that there is a passage through a bat cave and up to another small shrine outdoors.Guest review byDebraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I had a wonderful experience at Lighthouse Hotel in Ninh Binh. The hotel is located in a convenient location, near markets and attractions, making transportation easy. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fully equipped with amenities. In particular, the receptionist is very friendly and enthusiastic, always ready to assist customers. The hotel also provides a private cooking area and dining table for guests, creating a feeling of home. The yard is spacious and airy, providing a relaxing space after days of exploration.
