Mike sam and family were extremely welcoming in their home, and you could tell they put genuine effort into making our stay comfortable and memorable. The tree house is awesome with a great view, the functional toilet is a luxury. Would happily stay for much longer in this beautiful part of Tanna. Staying with Morrisen and his family was the highlight of our two weeks in Vanuatu. The accommodations are simple but clean. Flush toilet, solar lights and charging station. Morrisen can arrange pickup and tours around the island so be sure to message him in advance. His wife, Susie cooks incredible breakfast. Be sure to try her banana pancakes. This is the real authentic Vanuatu island life. I am very grateful for this experience.

The hospitality of Philip, Susan and their sons was absolutely incredible. They were so gracious with their time without being over bearing on your privacy. This is the spot to stay when checking out the volcano side of Tanna. You will have everything you need to see the vanuatu culture from the perfect location. For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse. Friendly reminder to grab cash and break it down in Port Vila or at the market in Tanna.

Rockwater Resort is an absolute diamond find! The attention to detail in everything from the guest interactions, the room, the food and the resort itself. I spent three days in this gorgeous place, not only doing the Tanna Island top sights (Mt Yasur volcano, Blue Cave, traditional village tour and the Giant Banyan tree), but simply spending time around the resort by the pool with a book or snorkelling off the front cliffs. Silvana and John are absolutely beautiful hosts with their care and attention for the experience of your own and other guests with the island and Vanuatu as a whole.
