- From $71.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 162 reviewsLake Grappa is an absolute gem! The food was out of this world – fresh, flavourful, and far beyond what you’d expect in such a small Northern Cape town. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made our time in the restaurant so much fun. The cottages are spotless, comfortable, and excellent value for money. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!Guest review byAdmin SolaSynergiSouth Africa

The room offers a conducive peaceful sleep after a long day. The bed provides the necessary comfort. The small fridge allows storage of your drinks. The Aircon and TV Create add value for sufficient rest. HOWEVER, the toilet should have Air Freshners. The Curtains are transparent and when the lights are ON, a person can see your image in the room.Guest review byMbhungana - 10.0

The National Park is exceptional, as most National Parks are in South Africa. The curio shop was quaint and not too highly priced. Although the area experienced much rain, we could get around comfortably with our SUV. We had a good lunch at the restaurant. Service was excellent and friendly. We especially enjoyed the information and photos of previous floods at the main offices. The viewing areas were well-maintained even though some paths were closed for renovation. We still managed to see everything. Typically, one should spend about 20 minutes or more per viewing area in order to capture the beauty and tranquility of the park.Guest review byElaineSouth Africa - 8.0

Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing.
Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. It was great that the restaurant/gift shop and wine tasting venue were on the premises, so we didn't have to drive to Upington or surrounds. The wine tasting experience on site was also outstanding!Guest review byHettieSouth Africa - 10.0

Upington is a delightful town with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty to see and do. Don’t miss the stunning Orange River views, a visit to the Kalahari-Oranje Museum for local history, or the scenic Desert Wine Route for wine enthusiasts. A highlight of any visit is dining at the Orange River Cellars Restaurant, "Die Kerkmuis," where the Pizza Burger is absolutely divine—an unforgettable treat! Whether you’re exploring the unique landscapes or enjoying the local flavors, Upington is a gem worth visiting.Guest review byUlrichSouth Africa - 8.0

I visited the main falls viewing platform and the next three to the left; the first three were closed because of the height of the river. The views were absolutely stunning and exceeded my expectations. Witnessing the river's raw power is extremely humbling. I ate at the Augrabies Falls restaurant, which was extremely disappointing. The waiters looked so demotivated, and it seemed like they were doing us a favour. We waited a very long time for two cold cappuccinos and a burnt waffle, and ice cream. We witnessed at least two families sit at a table full of dishes and wait to get served with no waiter even taking notice, only for them to get up and leave. I couldn't travel around the park as most of the roads were closed because of water running through the park. It would also be nice if a few more markers were put up indicating directions to the viewpoints. We stumbled through the bush and mud to get to a walkway called "Augrabies Monster", only to find that part of the walkway had been swept away.Guest review byMikeSouth Africa - 10.0

This is a perfect town to stay in to base yourself between Augrabies Keimoes and Kakamas. Bazalel Wines is a Boutique Wine Cellar that offers a coffee shop and wine and brandy tasting at a reasonable price. Drive to Augrabies Falls and enter into the small town off Augrabies and see what it is all about, on your way on this drive take in the awesome Quiver trees, the wineyards and all the local living. Die Mas van Kakamas is a Wine Cellar and Restaurant not to be missed. They offer beautiful settings over the wineyard and wine, gin and brandy tasting at a reasonable price - the food is very good! Keimoes Padstal is also your one stop shop if you are pressed for time or also Die Pienk Padstal. Keimoes Spar has everything you need if you dont want to go into Kakamas. Then there is the "Kalahari Vleishuis" in Keimoes....Flip se Rib is a deboned and spiced lamb rib and for those that know... daar is niks soos 'n staan rib in Noordkaap nie! Keimoes is also a great option to stay if you are on your way to Namibia.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

The hotel is in dire need of of a revamp, especially the room that we got. The bathroom and toilet is in the bedroom, ie no privacy when using the toilet. The second bathroom with the toilet and shower has no ventilation ie no opening window or fan! This is definately not a four star establishment. Not even a two star!Guest review byTheo SnymanSouth Africa - 8.0

The facility is on the Orange River & it is very pleasant to sit on the deck next to the river, however there are not enough umbrellas & tables to protect you from the midday heat. The dinner we had was very good & the lady who attended to us was very efficient & friendly.Guest review byLindaSouth Africa
