Literally everything, the decor, location, AMAZING staff, delicious food and stunning views! I think the staff was what made our stay especially wonderful (especially Camilla who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable). I travel a lot and it’s not always that I get a great lasting impression like I had with Hawthorn 🙏🏻

Went to play golf for a couple days, amazing resort. We stayed in room 3101 nice living room with fireplace with wood setup, couch 2 chairs and a round table, small terrace off the back looking out over garden. Refrigerator and bar area on back wall of living room, atrium between bedroom and large bathroom. Large bedroom comfort and quiet, peaceful place. Service impeccable from everhone great breakfast buffet or a la carte, nice restaurants, and shops, spa was booked so we couldn’t go. Fabulous garden grounds for walks. Great main bar with terrace. Great golf highly recommend the links. Will go back to play again if in SA again!

The room was absolutely huge and very comfortable to stay in. The birds outside get fed a little so that you can do a little bird watching during breakfast which is lovely. The breakfast was fantastic, probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had.

We received an upgrade and stayed in the 3-bedroom house. It was fantastic! It has a huge living room, dining room and kitchen, perfect for large families or groups of friends. Each bedroom is big and has plenty of storage in cupboards. The beds were very comfortable.

    Tranquil & quiet location surrounded by beautiful mountains. We enjoyed the well kept gardens and the sunset views. Our hosts kept checking in to ensure our stay is as comfortable as possible, we used their braai facilities which was well equipped and specially prepared for our use. We enjoyed a breakfast at the tea garden before heading out to explore in Oudtshoorn, nearby.

    We all loved George.

    We all loved George. It is so close to so many attractions and beautiful areas. It is a good base to be at to do day trips. George is so clean, and no potholes. We wished that we had more time to look around. We had a fantastic meal at Cula restaurant.

    Loved the view and i enjoyed climbing the stairs to our room. The room was cozy, bed very comfortable - had all we needed. All shops, restaurants and beach in walking distance, loved our beach strolls. The artist was busy with the most beautiful paintings within the subway leading to the beach. The breakfast at the place was delicious so we enjoyed dinner at The Blue Olive the Friday night and Ilali the Saturday night. We enjoyed the Saturday market, so many stalls.

    place was stunning, however when i booked was noted we had to vacate the place between 8-12am, we had cleaning staff demanding we leave at 9.30 so they can clean as new tenants arrive at 2.. we were intending to leave at 10, they could not wait and insisted to invade our space. very unnecessary as the cabin was kept as we found it. i think the maids must understand we are the paying customer not them. bit of a spoiler. the host michelle was very attentive and gracious. thank you michelle for the response on the call out too😉 to brian and verner can see you have a close family and have had wonderful times have memories... luv that.

    The whole experience was just first class.

    The whole experience was just first class. Whilst travelling tot he venue there was a phone call to assist with booking in and enjoyment of the facilities. The pictures on the web site do not do justice to the actual facilities and rooms etc...... recommend a new set of photos as it was much nicer in reality than expected........ Great communication and helpfulness. Would recommend to any traveller.

    Hoekwil is beautiful with lots to see - there is a big tree nearby which you can visit (make sure to wear comfortable shoes). There are also a few nice places to eat, drink coffee and enjoy the quiet surrounds. The accommodation in the area is also very nice and neat.

    What wasn't closed for Easter was mostly booked out. Not much to do or see. Beaches overdeveloped or off limits to non residents. Not a tourist friendly town. Nearby "Wilderness" was a joke with SAN Parks waiting to fleece overseas visitors just to go for a walk. Four days of disappointment.

    A small village on the east coast between George and Knysna. People are friendly and services adequate for basic needs. Plenty of restaurants catering for a variety of cuisines some of them highly recommended. Beautiful beaches close by and stunning drives into the countryside at your doorstep.

    The accommodation was awesome, the reception super friendly and informative. The view was unequaled. It was a most memorable stay. The meals at Dutton's Cove were amazing. So glad that we chose Herold's Bay as a destination and Ozone Apartments as our host. The hike to the cross and the view from there was breathtaking. We were even blessed to see well over 300 dolphins in 2 consecutive days and 2 whales. Will definitely re-visit.
