The cottage is super awesome, with excellent facilities. The WiFi worked well, the shower, the kitchen and the heaters all worked perfectly. The hostess was super amazing, and very very friendly and helpful. The homemade rusks were delicious. Strongly recommended place to stay. The views of the ocean, the walk to the lighthouse and the wildflowers bloom all made our stay awesome. Point to note, from N7, it’s about 80 kms, of which about 54kms are gravel

All was good just wish i knew it was a gravel road to get there. But not their fault lol. I must apologize to them, my husband accidentally took their Doom spray thinking it was ours when he packed because we had bought the same one as they had. If u wana be offgrid, thats the best place .if u go there make sure to try out their seafood at the local restuarant ,best mussels ever and the community is the best people i have ever met in my trip .very friendly and helpful.

Soebatsfontein is small with not much in the way of shops.

Soebatsfontein is small with not much in the way of shops. Take what you need unless your accommodation can provide meals. I am not sure there is a garage for petrol/diesel. It is a great remote spot to do day trips to see flowers in flower season. Expect only gravel roads and watch the routes Google maps may send you on. If they take a long time they may be 4x4 routes. The local town hall is opened with interesting crafts during the flower season.

Hondeklipbaai is quite a depressing, run down village, with limited lighting at night so we were advised not to walk to the local restaurant. If you are keen to get away from it all, it may appeal to you - but for a family with teenagers, not an ideal destination. We were only there for a night; so did not get to the reserve; which I believe is spectacular in Spring.

Hondeklipbaai has not much to offer ito entertainment, a small, ex-fishing village which is rather run down - although the accommodation offered is totally acceptable. The prices on the menu of the harbour restuarant is, for locals travellers, somewhat pricey. Really enjoyed our trip along the rugged coastline to the shipwreck. Even though we were approached, on two occassions, for money and liquor, overall, the local folk are very friendly.
