The villa was awesome, it was cleaned every day including the beautiful swimming pool. There are five bedrooms all with aircon, fans, mozzie nets and comfortable beds. Two rooms have ensuites and there are a further two bathrooms all of which are very clean. The staff were lovely, very kind and they couldn't do enough for you, especially Sanjeewa who drove the Tuk Tuk, he went above and beyond to provide everything we needed and also took us anywhere we wanted to go locally. The owner was also extremely helpful in sorting out drivers for any trips we went on and also taking one member of our party to the doctors when she was unwell. Breakfast was included and was huge, so much food. There is a kitchen if you want to make your own food but there is also a menu you can order from for evening meals which is very reasonably priced. The garden is gorgeous and get lots of local wildlife in it, including chipmonks and the odd monkey. All in all the whole experience was brilliant and I highly recommend Sandul villa - we stayed for two weeks,

Our room was spotless and lovingly cared for every single day. And then there was the food… Breakfast was simply unforgettable – you could taste the love and passion that went into every dish. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and just delicious. Lunch and dinner were equally amazing (a little insider tip: don’t miss the vegetable tacos – they’re incredible!). But what truly made our stay so exceptional was the people. The service here goes far beyond professionalism – it comes straight from the heart. I travel a lot, both for work and for leisure, but I have never experienced such genuinely warm, joyful, and caring hospitality. We were looked after in a way that made us feel like family. Often, before we even realized what we wanted, it was already there – brought with a smile so sincere that it instantly brightened our day. Built on 9 acres of gardens, AVANI Kalutara Resort (formerly Kani Lanka Resort and Spa) is located by the Kalu Ganga River. It offers an outdoor pool, a luxurious spa and free Wi-Fi. Perfect location for what we needed. We went to a wedding at Anantara and this was the best way to experience it.
