The hostel is actually very nice. It is located in a green area close to the ocean, which is very safe and quiet at night. You walk maybe 8 minutes to the next bus stop and you are in a good area of San Francisco. The rooms were alright and the beds very comfortable. The hostel has a big and clean kitchen and lovely common areas. So it is possible to get to know other people. The staff was helpful.

Unfortunately there was no breakfast and the bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner. Maybe it would be an idea to clean them twice per day.

- All staff were very friendly and helpful - my room was large and clean - daily housekeeping - comfy bed - convenient location 10 mins walk from farmers market and the grange, 20 mins walk from 4 museums, 2 min walk to convenience store and 10 mins walk to trader Joe's, Ralph's, CVS. - cafe and Thai restaurant next door - coffee in room - I felt very safe here as a female solo traveller

- the pool area was not ideal as it is also home to the outdoor seating of the cafe next door so there is no privacy. I didn't use the pool for this reason and hardly ever saw anyone using the pool during my week there.

We didn’t get to stay there as they had no power when we went to check in. The staff were very helpful to accommodate us at another hotel and we were advised to return the next day to check in. When we got there the next day still no power and staff were not must have been over it as they were not helpful at all to the point that the lady we spoke to was quite rude.

It has good access to the Japanese Consulate and the Galleria. Since it is equipped with a kitchen and a large refrigerator, it is convenient for preparing meals for a child with allergies. I live in the United States, but I can also recommend this place to Japanese travelers.

The bathroom lock was broken. Since we are family, it did not bother us, but some customers might be concerned, so I felt it would be good to improve it.

Very complete and three double, rather comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen/bathroom and a washing machine/dryer. Very clean, felt like home. Neighbourhood not specifically interesting but ideal as a place to sleep and start the day trips by car from.

Check in was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom and the kitchen were nice. The location is in walking distance to Newport, a nice walk along the haven.

There was a patio advertised - our room had no patio. We actually booked this place BECAUSE of the patio, that was a big disappointment and false advertisement. The room had no AC. We had 76 degrees at night in our room. There are seals and sea lions close by and we couldn't open the window because of their noise, which would have been not such a problem IF there would have been an AC. The bed was a Murphy bed with an older or not good quality mattress and we were both rolling into the middle of the bed half the night, my partner slept on the couch at some point. The office offered us ear plugs- thanks for that but that was not what we came for. I came to this place prior to a major surgery to relax and enjoy some quiet time, went home frustrated and with a worn out back. The worst experience I ever had at a Hotel at the Oregon Coast. The pictures advertised don't show what we got.

Very friendly, older ladies at breakfast. Machines to (self) make fresh waffles. They made us feel welcome in an impersonal and untidy, old, smelly hotel.

Everything else that is not under "What did you like", which says it all. Eating breakfast from paper plates and plastic cutlery, drinking from plastic cups: I felt ashamed to waste so much plastic for days in a row that we took our stuff to the room and washed it for the next day. A gym that had not been used in (felt) decades, with a water tap that was brown, an airconditioning that must have not been used in years - the smell was immense - the crosstrainer and bike were fine but the dumbells full of grease and left metall splinters in my hand. No other equipment. The swimming pool had some chemicals in that left a foamy layer on the water which looked awful but "it would disappear as soon as we would enter the water" - needless to say that we have not tried. The full carpet flooring in the room was ancient, the room and airco were smelly. No opportunity to eat during the day except for a vending-machine type stock of prefab 'food'. And the road was extremely noisy, even with windows closed.

That's hard to say, cause the only pleasant thing about this was the price.

Absolutely disgusting. There was mold everywhere in the shower, the sheets weren’t clean, and there were hairs all over the bed. On top of that, we couldn’t use the towels because they had a strange smell and stains. The whole house smelled terrible.
