How does it work?

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

  • Villa Arneiro 1

    - “The location was perfect for our trip requirements..Centrally located to many beaches, Obidos, Tomar, Sintra, Cascais, Peniche, Nazare, Lisbon, several cave sites, dino trackway sites...so there was plenty to do. There was a little grocery store within walking distance of the Villa for day to day needs. It was easy to nagivate around the roads and highways, but you need a gps in the car or google maps, there are no street signs so don't rely on a map to navigate. The villa had AC and a full kitchen to work with, bedrooms were spacous and comfortable. The villa was very safe, clean and beautiful. We liked the self check in and out. We even took a dip in the small pool on the deck. Only about an hour from the airport in Lisbon. This was one of the best vactions we have had for ease of travel and sites to see. The accommodations were perfect for us. We met the owners and they were lovely. We loved feeding the goats and the chickens.”

Location very good about 4 mins drive to the nearest beeches. We didn't use site facilities so cannot comment on that. Price was also one of the best and It was super clean, cleaner than we expected. The shower was decent and hot and the gas fire pumps out a lot of heat if needed. The hosts were very good with communication before our visit and when preparing to leave. We would definitely stay again if a few inexpensive but essential things were sorted with the accommodation. Had a wonderful time in Newquay thanks to a last minute booking.

The wooden boards on the steps up to the front door are loose and not secured, very easy to trip on which is dangerous. The bathroom window lock mechanism is broke with the window about 2-3cm open and cannot be shut which made my partner very nervous about the safety while sleeping and not ideal for our belongings when out. It did get cold because of this which would cost the hosts more in energy? It would take seconds to break in. Also two window lock mechanisms in the lounge space are broke so again the windows are slightly open diagonally and you can feel the draft coming in and again would be super easy to break in. The room with two singles beds light does not work so my Dad used his phone light and one of the two single beds is completely gone/worn out, you sink into the springs (Sofa is more comfy to sleep on) I'm not fussy and can normally sleep anywhere but could not sleep on the bed with each spring poking you in the back (maybe suitable for children). The cooking equipment coating is flaking and peeling away, we used tin foil and brought our own crock-pot for cooking unless you want to eat Teflon. Despite what i didn't like which again I think is essential such as being able to lock the windows and sleep reasonable well and see what your are doing. I would stay again if these things were sorted, I do not think it would cost much for some small repairs and a couple of budget beds and I would happily pay more to stay again. We were out all day so it didn't make to much difference apart from poor sleep. If you were planning on staying in the accommodation more I wouldn't stay unless these points are sorted. It didn't make sense during our short trip to complain, contact hosts and get a maintenance man out as it would of shortened the time we had. Feedback purely for constructive feedback.

Really clean and superior finish. Massive tv. There's a pub that does food opposite but didn't hear noise. There is free parking in the street, but that's on a first come basis. Loads of places to eat within a very short walk with all cuisines covered. Only a 15 min stroll to the city centre, which is all on the flat. Brilliant waterfall shower.

I'm just being picky here, there is cutlery, but maybe a couple of plates for a takeaway would be useful? Mini fridge with small ice box froze my milk that was in the door? but beers were mega cold.

Loved the fact a shop is close by and also a fairly regular bus if you want to walk and bus rather than drive walk and drive.

Just be aware parking during the day can be hard. Not a problem for us because we didn't use the car after we'd arrived.

The property is in a fantastic location and a lovely building. It was very clean and the flat is spacious.

    • Negative section of review

The flat decor is very dated, and although that didn’t bother us, as it is still a comfortable stay, we woke the 1st morning of our stay to broken plumbing and zero water: this meant no ability to shower or even use the bathroom. The owner didn’t seem too worried about this, as it took 6 hours for her to send round her brother to check the situation (not a plumber), and not react to the emergency situation and immediately book an emergency plumber. We had to repack all of our things and find somewhere else to stay at last minute. An awful experience.
