- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The location was great as far as beach access. A little walk to get to shops, restaurants and stores. Lots of pool options and parking garage were nice to have. Plenty of chairs around the pool and enjoyed the Snack Shack. Breakfast was good.

  It was dirty and broken. Our AC unit in the room was covered in mold. The door to the deck wouldn’t close all the way. The door between the bedroom and living area wouldn’t close at all. Dining table was covered in old stickers that were partially peeled off. The bottom of the lamp stand was completely rusted. Spill stains on the walls and baseboards and inside bathroom doors. The was no toilet paper when we first arrived. We requested some but it never came. We had to go down 11 floors to the front desk to get it ourselves.

  hotel couldnt help it rained most of time we where there , but visiting my son main reason for the stay he was moving , so couldnt enjoy the pools, but did get the beach for the short breaks in the rain,,, for the stay over all good ,,,

  I was a little uncomfortable because when I showered it made the smoke detector go off and immediately the staff assumed I was smoking in the room and was ready to put me out and once he came up to search the room he had to apologize because he assumed.. I felt a lil stereotyped but I just let it go until it was the torches out so that I could speak to management because all of that was uncalled for. So I won’t be staying here anymore

  I would have given the hotel a higher rating but the rooftop bar was closed my entire stay. I didn't know the rooftop bar is only open 4 nights a week. Gift shop did not have t-shirts in all sizes or I would have bought several. The hotel is gorgeous. Bad location but will improve as the other buildings are finished. Would stay here again. Staff was amazing. Drinks overpriced.
