- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

The outdoor space allocated to the B&B is manicured with fruit trees and a nice seating area. Parking is right by the entrance. Very conveniently located for our needs connecting with local family. Just a perfect place to stay.”

  The location was excellent, close to our concert venue, restaurants, and activities. The room was comfortable and clean, and we were even offered to have our room serviced even though we were only staying 2 nights! That's very rare, these days, in my experience. Oh, and the food we ordered from room service was delicious and hot. All around a great experience! Our view was even good!

  The beds were comfy, but the pillows were too flat to use just one, but too thick to use two. A common hotel problem. Would have liked some decaf coffee options in the room, too, but it's a small quibble.

  The location is outstanding. 2 minute walk to the center of town and 1 minute to the beach. Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy to get to. While the room is date it was clean. You can hear the waves when the windows are open.

  The bed was god awful. Horribly uncomfortable, the pull out sofa bed was only slightly better. The air conditioner in the room was extremely noisy, but it worked well.

  I didnt like that check in is at 3 and we got there and check in at 530 and dont get a room til almost 9pm. Horrible!

  Housekeeping came and yelled if we wanted housekeeping. We said no. They came back again after we said we didnt want housekeeping. Banging on door. Plus waited over 3 hours for a room that we paid for from 3 that day and didnt get in til almost 9pm

  The property is nice and clean is good. The stuff is good. The location is good. That’s why I go there.

  The thing I didn’t like is that there was no Netflix on TV. You have to watch the TV with commercials and I think that is part of the comfort. The staff told me that it’s been a couple months where the Netflix it’s work sometimes and it doesn’t work at times that’s not good

  Only complaints would be horrible parking and both times iv stated there, the ice machine has not been fixed. They put an ice chest filled with ice next to the ice machine for everyone to use. NOT sanitary!

  While staying at this property the first night I was called about a noise complaint when the volume was room level. Then the manager stands at the door and just sits there. On both friday and saturday the cleaning/room service staff unlocks the door to the room both days while I was almost fully naked. No knock or response was given that anyone was at the door and they were actively unlocking and entering the room
