Bed was super old.Very uncomfortable. Sheets and blankets were stained. We purchased our own next door at job lots. The room REEKED of cigarettes. We opened windows and door and used fan to air out as best we could. Washcloths and towels were stained from rusty towel rack. The shower door would not close. Had to wedge washcloths in track to close. You could literly see the outside through the door jamb. Overall very dingy. The room had some updated fixtures flooring sink ect... but didn't matter when everything else was poor. Oh and there were bedside lamps that had nowhere to plug them in All outlets were on the other side of the room.

Our bathroom was nasty, hair was everywhere the sink, toilet and shower was the worse. All they did to correct the problem was give use each $25 credit for the 3 of us in the room, that didnt even cover breakfast which was $35 per person and we were only thiere for 2 nights, they wouldnt comp the first night. To make matter worse they didnt even apply the credit like they said, the day I checked out and looked at my bill was when I had to tell the front desk staff that I had the credit and then it was taken off. I also called corporate to file a formal complaint and they were much nicer about the situation. The hotel was nice and full of history with a great location but your cleaning staff has to do a better job and loyalty customers should be treated better no matter how they booked.

This aspect of my stay is more complicated. I have been a Public Defender for over 30-years. As a result, I am aware of when I observe suspicious criminal behavior. As this was a single night stay on my way home, I did not bring in all of my luggage. As such, I parked my vehicle outside my hotel window so I could keep an eye on the vehicle. As I did so throughout the evening, I observed that there were individuals who would walk out of the hotel and go to their vehicles and remain in their vehicles for extended periods of time. This type of behavior went on into the early hours of the morning. Other vehicles would pull up, and that occupant would enter the other vehicle. I believe these were classic drug transactions. There was another individual who would come out to his vehicle. He would enter the vehicle and then exit after a short time and then stand in front of his driver side door looking into the vehicle for an extended period. That behavior was repeated at least 3 or 4 times throughout the evening. This was very odd behavior. He was not removing or adding items to his vehicle. He was not engaged in locking his vehicle. In the early hours of the morning, I saw a police SUV drive by this area of the parking lot. I was placed in a room at the rear end of the hotel. This entire parking lot activity in the remote rear area of the hotel was unnerving, and as a result, I barely got any rest. On check-out, I debated whether to raise this matter with the reception staff. I was checking out by 6:00 a.m. I decided against bringing this matter to the attention of reception staff because I was anxious to get on the road and out of there. I will not be staying at this location of La Quinta again.
