- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The location was perfect! Quiet. So close to everything! The condo itself is very well decorated and clean. Everything you need is there, with extras. I liked that when you leave you may leave non perishable items, so there was a little coffee, sugar, and some other staple items that were great to have on arrival and we left some when we left. The communication with point of contact was effortless, they answered everything within several minutes. I will definitely stay again!

  The buildings are older, although that was not a big issue for me. There really wasn’t anything that I did not love about the property location price, etc

  I liked the room layout. We got a room with a queen bed and a suite. The pullout couch was nice to have in the room as well. The mini fridge and sink were a welcomed addition as we stayed multiple nights and had to wash baby bottles while there. The room was definitely more than spacious. We could still walk around the room with the sofa bed pulled out and two pack-and-plays set up for the infants.

  The continental breakfast wasn't as good as I've had at other hotels I've stayed at, but definitely not the worst one I've ever had. The bed and pillows were comfortable, but I didn't sleep too great. If you didn't have the address typed in your GPS, you would drive right by the hotel like we did. I would have liked to see more outlets in our room. Thankfully the one outlet by the bed was on my side and I could plug in my CPAP and phone charger. My wife did not have one near her side of the bed.

  The location, facilities, and staff were all excellent. The location is steps away from the Riverwalk and a short walk to the Alamo. The unit itself was beautifully decorated and very clean and spacious. The front staff was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating.

  The street noise/late night drag racing?? over the long weekend kept me up at night so be prepared, but this is not a problem only for the Maverick hotel. Also, linens for the pullout bed were missing but not a big deal.
