The cottage is situated behind the hosts' primary home. The property is gated. We coordinated our arrival time with the hosts so they could open the gate to the driveway. When we arrived, one of the hosts met us in the driveway to show where to park and to say hello! Very nice! The door to the cottage was open, and the keys were inside.

The location is prime - right on the beach with great access. The apartment was well equipped, had many amenities like parking, pool, washer/drier etc. The apartment was nice, cozy and clean, however, there are some points to consider - I will list them below.

1. Access is weird - you pick up a key ~1.5 miles away from the property, use it to access the building, then use 10(!?!?!) digit code to enter the apartment (lock is kind confusing too btw) to pick up another set of keys. Pool? Beach? Bathroom? Garage? Everything requires 1 set of keys to enter and exit, so you can imagine how "nice it is" to have 4 people stay and always needing a key master to access anything. Remembering and typing up a 10 digit code every time to lock/unlock the apartment is a great touch, with no garage door opened on premise as a cherry on top of this nonsense. You exit the vehicle, enter the garage through a door using a key, then open the garage door for your car every time you enter (in reverse to exit). Btw, the exit door stopped working when we were checking out. 2. The building is amazing with the amenities, however, it needs some serious updates - rusty doors, leaky places, peeling paint, etc. The lot outside says tow away zone, but support told me to park there. I wasn't sure how safe that was due signing and lack of parking instructions, so I chose the garage. Also, the lot has poor drainage, so most spots were under 3-4 inches of water from the rain, so we couldn't use those anyways. 3. While mostly clean and sanitized - there were areas needing improvement - like a couple surfaces with sand, hair in one of the bathrooms or not all dishes properly washed. I am a clean freak though, so for some this might be acceptable.

We liked everything about Patio Motor Court. The only comment would be that they do check-out at 10am. A few years ago the almost universal check-out time was noon, then the lodging industry started to push it to 11am, and now there's this growing trend of 10am.

Double full six beds not queen size beds Sheets were very worn out Numerous bare spots Door to room from hall did not fit properly. Gaps between top of door and frame , also gap on side of door and frame . Bad repair jobs in bathroom, on wall and baseboards. 2 Dogs barked all night in room across the hall , at every noise in the hall.

Our room was exactly as described. Very comfortable, very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was very convenient to have the store available for coffee, food supplies, etc.

We had a ground floor room and someone above us loudly walked the floor all night long, so we got little sleep. Next time I would try to reserve an upstairs room.

Tub showers, especially in a handicap room are not safe and very difficult to use. Chaise was in front of controls for blinds so we didn't see the controls and couldn't figure out how to lower shades.
