- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

It’s in a peaceful area on the outskirts of Amsterdam, with a tram station just 5 minutes away. Important tip: at Materhonne tram station, don’t follow Google Maps, as it shows a 24-minute walk. Simply cross the street toward the hotel and you’ll be right there.”

  The Quilt Inn is a small motel in a very small town run by a very efficient couple who wear many hats. It is far from fancy with whistles and bells. It’s simple, quiet, very clean and provides a homey, friendly atmosphere. It’s really like coming home and going to your own bedroom.

  Layout of room was good. Location was as good. Breakfast was exceptional. The cleaning guy at breakfast was amazing.

  We had returned by 1 pm and room was not cleaned. We had wanted to rest but left again for cleaning staff to clean. Returned by 3 pm and still not cleaned. Body wash was never refilled. The container was empty. Receptionist could not even smile. Cold and distant lady.

  Room was good. The shuttle driver Anthony was a nice guy and helpful.

  The night/morning staff-person was abusive and belligerent. She took exception to my coming behind the counter in the morning to look for her (I needed to pick up a package that had been left for me and after waiting for 5 minutes I came behind the counter to look for it - admittedly something in retrospect I shouldn't have done - though there was no desk bell to ring, no sign saying not to come behind the counter, nor any posted notice saying 'back in a minute', and no one responded to multiple loud calls from me asking if anyone was there); then when she finally came out, she started yelling and screaming at me despite my apologies and attempt to explain to her the circumstances. She then lied to the manager about what had occurred and he began being abusive to me. It was a very unsettling and unfortunate event, especially in that the manager took her full word for what had happened and never bothered to get my side of the event.

  The smell in my room was horrible. The bathroom tiles were broken and moved when you walked on them. Appears they had to pry the bathroom door open and did not attempt to fix the latch back. Hole in the bathroom door covered up by duck tape. I guess for $60 a night you get what you pay for.

  When I wanted to check in at 130am do to long drive the front desk person was on his cell phone with ear buds in and took him about 15 mins to acknowledge me. And the hot breakfast was cold as I don't think the warming pan worked or was turned on.

  Asked for a clean room overall and was disappointed with a dirty toilet, which was a red substance not sure exactly but more like blood. When offered another room that toilet was dirty too.
