- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Simply wonderful. The room was modern and clean. The staff were very friendly. Anytime I needed something brought up, they quickly came within minutes. I honestly had no complaints. We had a city view room, and it was beautiful. We could see the fog come in from a distance and the sunshine peer through by mid-day. For breakfast, you could order from a menu or enjoy the widespread buffet which had a lot of hot food options including a made-to-order omelette and pancake/waffle bar, congee, bacon/sausage, etc, etc.

  The exterior awnings could use some cleaning up, but I can't fault them for pigeons/seagulls. It's a coastal town after all. On-site valet parking was pricey (~45/night), so we found a garage just a 2 minute walk away that was significantly cheaper ($12-15/night).

  Clean and quiet. Half the rooms were rented to a construction company and most of the parking spaces were full of their large trucks but we were able to squeeze into a small space that was protected and the workers were quiet and gone by breakfast. The heated outdoor pool has 2 chair lifts for disabled persons, a huge bonus!

  the breakfast was stale and stingy. Compared to the Santa Rosa location, for the same price per night, the breakfast setup is MUCH better. The bed was not a pillow top and they had a queen size mattress on a double size box spring which was tippy.

  Excellent value for the price. Nothing super fancy, but very clean and comes with a refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of parking and the location is very good. There are other options in Hampton Beach but they are twice the price.

  The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was super convenient and safe. Room was a good size for me so I felt like I could spread out. I would stay again but will be bringing my Crocs or flip flops.

  The carpets were disgusting, they definitely had not been recently vacuumed because there were a ton of little particles everywhere. Like string and hair. I didn’t feel clean after walking bare foot, so I relegated a pair of my socks to be “carpet socks” that I would put on any time I had to get up during the night. The elevators also looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, there was tons of grime in the corners, and the doors were super janky when they closed. The maid service was hit or miss. I expect like 3 things when I stay at a hotel - replace the full trash bag with a new trash bag, replace used towels with clean towels, leave me a bath mat. Don’t even need the bed made. Would love if they vacuumed. Checked in on Thursday, no bag for trash, no bath mat so had to use a hand towel, two clean towels. Friday, no trash bag, had bath mat, replaced dirty towel. Saturday, bag, mat, towel, perfect. Sunday, bag, no mat, no towel but had 1 clean one left. Monday, bag, left a mat, took towel and left me with no clean towels. So clearly they expected me to take a shower because there was a mat but there were no towels. I’m not mad, I’m just confused.
